We are all aware that there is so many fake coins and bullion out there. And Ebay is often a vehicle for selling such goods. I wonder if this is permissible? It seems that such coins with a denomination can be sold as souvenirs these days.

With so many crack downs in copyright, it appears that a blind eye has been turned towards coinage.

That's what I thought also as these coins have a denomination of $1 on them.

"Please note this is is a decorative ornament only"

That, or something similar seems to be all they need to put in a listing for it to be fine

    Pathetic

I came across similar last year and I rang Perth Mint. They asked me to email the link to them.

Considering they are from china. I would say those few hundred people that left feedback would be his mates that live in his 1 bedroom apartment with him.

99% feedback rating is a crap rating.

I have been on ebay for nearly 15 years now as both a buyer and a seller and I would not buy anything from any seller with a feedback rating of less than 99.8% and even then I would be hesitant.

There is just to much shit out there.

I picked up a panda , just to see it It felt nice , looked nice . but failed acid test fast.
It's a problem these days as many shops want to test coins severe and or only buy when owner or top manager is around.
I'd say the classic SHTF scenario these Fakes wont help that also .

There will always be con men, counterfeiters, scammers, widows giving away their millions before dying of cancer, and Nigerian princes selling bridges or gold nuggets etc. People who fell for this scams are just - greedy. Period. Lessons in the University of Life can be very costly. Paying $5 hoping to get '40 gm of .9999 fine silver' is just the first lesson!

Don't buy these, even to check out as a novelty. The Currency Team at the AFP will be all over him soon, and looking for the buyers. Just buying one with the knowledge it is a fake is an offence.

I've contacted ebay at least a dozen times in the past to report this type of s--t & sometimes they do get stuff taken down, mostly they don't,
so as we all know as long as ebay gets their fees they also don't really give a s--t.

If one or more of the worlds mints brought a prosecution against ebay for wilfully distributing fake coins maybe they would take it seriously & while the mints were at it I'd also aim my lawyers at Ali baba the biggest distributer of fakes in the world.

Making fake coins are just some petty crime. No big deal, after all there is no one forcing you to buy them. You should be raging about those legalized criminals - the banksters and corrupt politicians. These are the people that by their rule of law and threat of prosecution rob us blind every single day! Good shot but wrong target, my friend.

Might be a petty crime to you but it is infringing copyrights of mints & this crap will eventually be bought by some unsuspecting person. The reason I don't buy silver pandas is because of the amount of fakes flooding the market, Chinese government don't seem that bothered either.
Just as an add on I hate politicians as well LOL.

From one social justice warrior to another...
You're not describing any new problems. Illegal practices are as old as law itself. Without one the other is not necessary.
