I held a 400oz bar at an ABC bullion event. It rally does give you a true sense of the density of it when something the size of a brick weighs so much! That bar is worth more than many people's houses.
Yeah, I guess a 10 oz bar feels a bit like a small soap )) A 20 oz bar would feel like a "real soap" )) 1 oz bars are smaller than biscuits, perhaps around the size of After Eight chocolates? 100 gram gold bars should feel like those mini hotel soaps ))
'z that gold or silva'? Those bars have a strong yellowish tone, so I guess it's gold. If that golden Stonehenge is yours, then you're a happy man!
Yowza, some nice stacks there. I only started this year but I would have some gold and silver. In a pinch if you have to flee, it's a lot easier to grab a stack of gold coins and throw them in your backpack than pull out a dolley and load up and equivalent amount of silver! Hopefully that never happens but you never know. Things are getting crazy.
Man, I wish I started stacking in the early 2000s when I started thinking about it. I never knew how pathetic our financial system would get.
a actually u can hold a bitcoin. if u load a bitcoin on to a usb. that usb actually DOES weigh more. so a billionth of a gram is what? 20k.... then gold would seems HUGE and excessive.
Ag b just brought back a childhood memory. When I was a kid, my family would go to the Jersey shore for vacation. I loved to crab, and made my own weights for the crab lines. Put a silver 64 Kennedy half in the bottom of a Dixie cup, then poured plaster of paris in. When it dried, I tore the paper cup off, and popped out the half. I could pour about half a dozen lead sinkers before the plaster cracked, and I had to make another mold. If I can find my old tackle box, I bet there is still one or two of them left. Melted old lead wheel weights I found along the road to make them.
True story: The year is 1918 in Malaysia. My grandmother is 17 years of age. Young, fair and beautiful with many suitors. Her only requirement was she'll marry the first person to get her the best Indian necklass called kasimalai. Image in link below: (https://www.google.com.au/search?rl...JydvYAhWBa7wKHTqZBrQQBQgmKAA&biw=1745&bih=863) Anyway my grandfather who was just of average looks worked hard and "won" her love with the largest of this neckless. My grandmother had 8 kids, 23 grandchildren, 78 great grand children and I've lost track of great great grand children. Anyway since my dad was the last child, this kasimalar was given to him (and it did cause a lot of bickering with his sisters) Some time last year, my dad gave it too me as I'm the only son. Its too bad i don't have any kids to pass it on but in short, this gold chain which is of modest weight (30 sovereigns) has one hell of a story! cheers/
I purchased my first gold bar recently. 3.2 oz Credit Suisse. When I bought it the dealer said, this was a very stout bar. And it is. It’s the tiniest bar in my collection but I just love it. I may go back and forth with the platinum but I think I’m gonna hold onto my gold babies lol.
