So I know Ripple is not exactly the most popular crypto due to its connection to the banking system.
Nevertheless, this is one I like, especially because of that and the different angle it brings.
It has been going sideways for a while and it looks like it is overdue for a bit of a breakout IMO.
I think it holds decent potential for the long term.

Why do you think it's due for a breakout?

Technical Analysis of the charts suggest it's bombing and nothing positive will happen anytime soon

It it purely based on sentiment, I admit I am not basing this opinion on any TA.

Ripple has a pretty good real world application for settlement and remittance systems with all the benefits of the public ledger technology. The vision of the project is pretty clear and a good candidate for the early adoption and implementation in real life of the blockchain technology in general: this is a pretty basic use of the technology yet an application I can see happen in the real world.

It has partnered with a good number of banks and financial institutions already and is also experimenting with a good number of actors including CBA and ANZ here locally.
In these aspects, Ripple is a promising and solid project IMO.

Then when I look at the chart, say the 3m one, XRP hasn't been doing much unlike its peers in the top 5 or top 10.
Now, maybe it won't have a break out, and perhaps it'll keep stagnating or even go down, but it often happens that after a prolonged period of boringness in a coin, interest picks up and boom.

Also interesting to see the Koreans have consistently been making the largest portion - by far - of the buying, unlike other coins like ETH or LTC.

Only my opinion of course, could be completely wrong - do your own research.

Ripple breaks my heart. Ripple is my first crypto I started following 8 months back. Huge gains really quick and then nothing. Problems is I'm on the forum, get the tweets and know how much insanely great stuff is going on there. However the rest of the crypto community simply FUDS and spreads clearly false data. Even the biggest news and the coin stays flat. If your banking on a sure thing this is it, problem is it may have a slow start. I've been holding for almost a year now and although way up just sucks seeing everything else fly by, especially coins that are not nearly as developed as XRP

Ripple is up 97% in the past week - impressive.
Also interesting to note not only it is at an all time high in terms of price, it also is at an all time high volume.
Again driven by the Koreans who make 33.5% of the volume today (I have seen it close to 50% in the last month, but I only check from times to times).
Interesting time for Ripple, keeping its spot in the top 5 where it belongs IMO.

At this rate looks like Ripple will end up being the biggest crypto. So at the end of the day the banks centralised crypto wins. aww i guess you can only laugh.

If still holding it, now it is a good time for it to watch, my wife and i holds XRP and according to her, during the time last week those ripples are life saver.

Is Ripple gonna pass Ethereum and take the second spot?
Currently XRP sitting at $67B and ETH at $71B.
    That would be insane

From what I recall - and Imight be wrong on this - I do not think they necessarily need to use XRP to use RippleNet, however they might choose to.
I guess if the payment solution works well, there is no reason they would not use it.
Ultimately if the company succeeds, its token will succeed too.

$2 will probably be a big resistance point I would think, although Ripple is already trading at $2.16 on Bitthumb!

its just a rotational play, sell the top of the list, save some cash and punt on the second liner
