Hello everyone I've acquired some 1g instabul refinery 1g gold bars not too long ago and I'm kinda worried they're not genuine. On the bar in the pic, there appears to be spotting on the front with a little brown patch under the FI in "FINE" The bar is non magnetic and the security seal is still intact. I cannot find a database for the serial numbers either, nor is there many examples of the red assay version around, so I'm a little worried. I just didn't think it was worth faking 1 gram bars. Any help would be most appreciated.
For a 1g bar, it's very unlikely to be a fake. It's far more likely to be a copper spot, which is actually a good thing - it's an indication that the bar is genuine. I think red spotting is nothing to worry about . I have seen 1g bars with red spots that are genuine.
Thanks for the help everyone, greatly appreciated Got a PM from a member who lives relatively close to me and offered to have them scanned with his PMV. I'll post the results once we meet up.
i have a lot of turkish 1 gram, and i did a lot of local trades in turkish coins and bars, as i saw your photo it is good. Nothing to worry
