Hi, I am in the process of re opening an old silver mine. I got an assay on some mullock and It also contains 11% lead, 9% zinc, 6000gpt copper, 835 gpt silver. From the history they would crush and concentrate, Send of to cockle creek smelter. I remember here a while ago there were 2 silver miners in Tasmania that responded to a post. I meant to pm you at the time. I guess i am just wondering If someone can help me out a bit with the process. I have a jaw crusher, hammer mill. Some of The galena is in pieces 4 mm, do i still try and crush everything to sub 1mm before putting Over table like gold? I guess trial and error. I know there is a smelter in sa, any others that will Handle this type of ore? I will post some pics of ore later. Cheers.
good luck, realise you would be very busy with the mine, but try for regular updates, even make some YouTube vids. depending how much silver you dig out, marketing by forums and YouTube etc can help you maximise profits if you go down selling some hand poured bars.
Keen for pics and updates! I'd buy one of your bars for sure edit: in fact I believe I have first dibs!!
Rainy day Are you close to South32 or Cannington ?? Speak to some of the boys there They may shed some light how they processing there.
