I personally don't care if people get scammed over ebay. It's not a secret not to buy gold there but if they insist on saving 2$ in a 1000$ deal instead of buying at reputable places I really dont feel any compassion.
Update: Some have been shut down. Some are back up. Add another to the list jedicode http://www.ebay.com/sch/jedicode/m.html
I've purchased plenty of silver coins, rounds, and bars and even a gold coin on eBay. The one's I had tested of those were all genuine / real. I have saved lots of money (considering also that the eBay Bucks I've gained is free money in the pocket to spend on more silver) buying on eBay. .
Not worth the risk. Just one fake buy and that wipes out all the savings you made and more. Keep buying on ebay and it will likely happen to you sooner or later. Buy from reputable dealers.
There's far more reputable sellers on eBay than sellers that aren't. Besides, I've been protected every single time by eBay's Buyer Protection when receiving coins that were packed poorly or not described accurately. I've seen plenty of comments here in this forum regarding sellers that took money and never delivered or delivered crap and the buyer is not protected one bit. The money I save on eBay is money earned! .

Every now and then I catch a deal on Pre 65 US 90% silver auctions on Feebay at spot or just below. Always careful to buy from sellers who have been there a while, and ALWAYS check their feedback first. So far it has all been genuine, and passes the neodymium magnet test. The majority of 999 silver and any gold purchases are made at the LCS. I would rather have the pm in my hands first to inspect. He even had some silver 84 Engelhard Prospectors and an 05 Norfed Liberty in the generic 1oz. pile this week..........had I guess I am an outlaw now that I own a silver coin the Fed's consider a counterfeit.
On the recent threads I've read on this forum, I can see that some people are discouraging us gold owners to sell our stuff and invest on oil. Well, I'm not really sure if I have to follow but others says that gold are still up on the market. Recently, I came across this blog about digital currency (i think this could be bitcoin) <link removed> But can anyone tell me how digital currencies work and is it safe to invest? The only popular E-coin/digital money I know is bitcoin. I know there's other digital coins out there, but advice me first about bitcoins please
