    Hi folks,

Recently I bought 2 medals from a (private) mint that was unknown to me until now, although I've seen some medals they produced before.

I made 2 quick videos of 2 medals which look simply amazing for me and are good candidates for "MOTY 2017" (Medal of the Year" :) ). Unfortunately I thought that video for "Ghost Story" is a little bit longer, so I might upload it again as there are only a few seconds of the reverse (?). :/

Both medals have engraved weight and year on the edge. Ghost Story also serial number (which is not Arabic number but sexagenary cycle). They come in nice boxes that can survive some "handling".
Zhuolu medal has also part of COA translated to English. Not sure why they didn't do the same for GS.

    A) Ghost Story / Strange Tales 2017.

    Year: 2017
    Material: 999/1000 Silver
    Diameter: 80 (86)mm
    Weight: 420g
Mintage number: 60 (based on my info all were minted)
    Mint: China Arts Medal Club
    Designer: Tang Hui
    Antique finishing

    Year: 2017
    Material: 999/1000 Silver
    Diameter: 70*66*5mm
    Weight: 200g
    Mintage number: 360
    Mint: China Arts Medal Club
    Designer: Wang Changxing?

Medal is smaller than previous one, but amount of details is just outstanding. I know that some don't like to buy medals or coins that are related to war, but this is the case when you should make an exception. ;)

There are also 2 coppers versions, one smaller and one bigger. :)

    Enjoy!;)

Those are both absolutely beautiful medals. Thank you for sharing.

I must buy one of the Ghost Story medals to add to my collection!

Those are from one of the reputable private mint. However, they skills not as good as New Shanghai Century Mint big medal.

Those items are in pre order many months ago. The price is stable till now. You will take time to look for one lol

The High relief of the Ghost Story NOT as good as many mint by New Shanghai Century Mint big medal. However the story is beautiful and well known in China.

The Battle of Zhuolu Relief is better even much lesser silver was used in minting due to one side high relief only.

That my view which might be differ from others

Andy, you are right, the relief is not so high as some medals from New Shanghai Century Mint.

With amount of details/size Battle of Zhoulu might be even more impressive in hands, although if I would need to pick between the two I would probably still take Ghost Story medal.:)

I will need to research more about Strange Tales from where GS medal "borrowed" theme.
