I was surfing around the various Oz bullion dealers, looking at the shiny. Landed on Perth Bullion's site and the lovely gold 1oz version of the Queen's Beasts Lion.

The barstards make it too easy to buy. It's all their fault. :D

It's on backorder, so I'm not sure when I'll receive it.

I can't see any mention of packaging. Anybody else bought these? If so, how did it come?

I have ten in silver but they came in a tube.

I'm curious what the 1 oz gold comes in. Be great if you could share info or pics.

Picked up a few from KJC. Surprised they didn't come packaged in anything but a plastic slip. Just measured they are 32mm. Going to give the Perth Mint Capsules a go for the 1oz Kangaroos unless anyone has a better option?

Beautiful coin. Had to reject a few to dings around the rims though so seems like they aren't being transported with much care.

My gold QB from Perth Bullion came in an oversized capsule and looks horrible because the coin has rattled around in it all the way from Perth to Brisbane. The coin itself appears to be OK but the capsule is buggered.

Gorgeous design, but I'd never buy anything proof from the Royal Mint after the horrific milk spotting issues that started with the 5oz 2014 proof Britannia.

i couldn't bring myself to pay the premium, even though they look fantastic. I was a reluctant buyer of the 2oz 'regular' silver version, because I don't like paying a premium, but I thought it was an acceptable risk given the (relatively) small risk. These are 'silly money' for me.

Interesting. I got a gold 1oz from Perth Bullion and it only came in a little square manilla envelope. Fortunately the coin was completely ok, but they have f*cked me over before with bad packaging.

The high premium definitely makes it difficult to collect these coins but there is an interesting mix for collecting. Probably won't make anyone money, especially in the short term. In some ways the bullion version presents a more interesting design than the proof version. I am looking at the 1/4oz gold proof coin and thinking of pairing it with the 2016 1/4oz bullion version and see where I go from there. One good thing about the series is that it will have only 10 coin releases, within the next few (?4-5) years, which makes it easy to complete. The value may come from having a complete set. But the concept (10 "beasts") is appealing.

There are 594 of the 2017 Proof 1/4oz gold Queens Beasts Lion coins remaining at the Royal Mint web store out of the 2500 units released. It's still an expensive coin but may not get cheaper in future if there is increased interest in subsequent releases.

All three of my 1oz gold beast rattles. Have not been able to find a capsule that fits so far. Lovely coins though. Hope to get the full set.

They're for the 2oz silver where as I think he's referring to 1oz gold as per this thread

FYI I got the 2oz silver capsules from Perth Bullion and they fit great

Right you are, I have the 2oz coins. Assume they also carry the 1oz versions.

Thanks for the Perth Mint tip too.
