    Classic.

I don't think I've seen any bars where the stamps are wonky, poorly spaced, upside-down and overlapped all at once. What the hell was going through their heads? Did the manager let his kids play with the equipment that day? Or were the crew just sloshed after celebrating earlier in the day after making their first successful pour etc?

I bet there's a small story behind it which would be good to know (and IMO would improve it's value like knowing the provenance of other collectibles).

What is it worth? I have no idea as this sort of thing is a different market that can result in the same product being sold for completely different prices on different days. I was surprised by how much #4 went for. Personally, I'd pay a premium for #8 but probably not as much as for #4 for no other reason than I like the look of #4 better.

Thanks for sharing and I'm jealous if you got it for near current market price. :)

Haha well said bordsilver! I was surprised by the look of the bar as well. Not sure if the upside down look was unintentional or just some inside joke!

Now I have a dilemma as I don't know whether to fly the bar overseas or let the bar stay with a fellow Australian stacker. I'm definitely not looking at the price/premium of bar number 4 though.

Also mine appears to be serial number G1158 surpassing the known mintage. The first one is a lightly stamped "1" so it may be possible that is it only #158..
The other guy has numbers G454, G912 and G1013

These are the only ones I have, but they are very nice.

252g serial G1244 - New highest serial number apparently.
244g serial G1017 (Bit of an odd weight that one). Tiny bit thinner than the others.
    252g serial G898
    252g serial G175

Saw Rob's auctions and remember I had this.

It's a 10ozer but has a R prefix serial number and has SILVER stamped on it.

    ^ ^ Very nice!

Geomin bars being so rare are undervalued imo. Good sleepers. :)

What would a geomin 2.5oz (Gold) loaf be worth?

    Thanks

^ I love it but why do large Geomin bars sell for far less of a premium then the smaller ones? Recently Danman49 auctioned a 100 ounce bar and it went for $2300. It sold for $100 over spot. A bargain for any type of bar! But the smaller Geomin bars like the 250 grams go for around double spot. And 4 of those bars recently sold here for double spot. I'm asking because I bought one of those 4 bars and would like to know why there's no premium on large Geomin bars? Not that I'm worried with buying mine. I just don't get it.

Mate I scored the 100oz you mentioned and it was a bargain.

My guess is that the GEOMIN bars are just not that collectable yet.I say yet as I truly believe they are flying under the Radar for now.. In the not to distant future I feel they will be discovered by the wider collector market and then prices will be higher .
To answer the premium question on the larger bars its sadly across the board even Rare Large Engelhard's will at best get $3 over spot for a 100oz bar or even a 5Kg bar.

Have a read of this article from Allengelhard as it explains it better than me.

If you ever wish to sell your GEOMIN let me know mate as I am trying to gather as many as I can ready for the worm to turn plus they are ripper looking bars and have fantastic variations of pour..

    Kind Regards

    Bigfella

I think the same as you that Geomin bars will be discovered some time soon and sharply jump in premiums.

And yeah I might sell you my Geomin bar but not anytime soon. Maybe in 5 years time. ;)
