Hi all, I am running out of options and I really need your help! I sold a gold proof coin (a Australian Kangaroo 2oz Gold Proof High Relief Coin for those interested in knowing) to someone in Switzerland and I need to post this coin to them from Australia safely. The value of the coin is over $7,000 Australian Dollars and if it gets damaged / lost in the mail I can't afford to compensate my buyer. Does anyone know how I can insure and post this coin from Australia to Switzerland? DHL, Fedex and Australia Post told me they cannot do this for me. I am running out of options. PLEASE HELP!!
https://www.ups.com/au/en/shipping/freight/services/value-added.page Cargo Insurance Shippers may obtain Cargo Insurance to cover risks of physical loss of a shipment or damage to a shipment arising during transportation, subject to some limits and exclusions, including a limit of US$500,000 per shipment, for approved commodities. Cargo Insurance is not provided by UPS, but is provided by a third party insurer for an additional fee. For more information, refer to the UPS Air Freight Terms and Conditions of Contract.
I sent silver coins, used Sendle to South East Asia. Insured it for extra coverage. $3k Got away three times. No hassle. Takes a month. But totally trackable. Check it out. https://support.sendle.com/hc/en-au/articles/205204738-What-can-t-I-Sendle-
I have nothing but praise for DHL. They set the benchmark and, as far as I'm concerned, are the best in the business for delivery timelines, customer support and overall service. The fees can be a little bit higher but you get what you pay for.
No such thing as safety as all shipping has risk.I assume it is thru ebay hence your concern. If it is I would not send it.Period.
While back, I shipped out some high priced items to overseas through Ebay. Item was definitely received (I had 4000 feedback, 100% positive) but buyer claimed didn't receive, I was then charged back/reversed through PayPal payment. Another time, I paid for something and signed for it only to get an empty box, again through ebay. Got all the certificates/gifts/perks of being such a 'high standard seller' etc and generated 10's of thousands in fee's for them.. but since those few bad experiences, never again, their loss.
my ‘super dodgy’ one was a user from EU, can’t remember where.. told him prior that parcel will attract import levy.. yes this… yes that… the custom held my parcel due to levy… he claimed via PP as never received… I told PP parcel had to be paid due t levy… he waited until ‘eBay step-in’, which ended in his favor… funds refunded… THEN he collected his parcel….noice.
