What % of Australia's 26 million population do you think is currently stacking physical Precious Metals?

At present? Possibly up to 1% (due to people becoming disenfranchised and disillusioned with the idea of fiat currency).

Up to about 20 months ago? More like <0.5%, although that's only a guess. I'm sure there are those who are living off the grid or who prefer to remain under the radar somewhat who happen to have stockpiles of various items - after all, much of Australia is so empty as to be virtually uninhabited - but again, I'm only hazarding a guess...

Between the numerous Aussie bullion dealers (and Perth Mint) there must be 100k++ individual customers in order for businesses to stay viable? So... ok, less than 1%.

    Meanwhile in Germany...

I also would say about 1% of the population here in Australia could be classified as precious metal stackers/investors to some degree.

But out of that one percent, I would say that only one in ten could be classified as hardcore stackers who stack as if their lives depended on it.
( Like you and me Wellsy );)

Most of the people I was talking to have no idea what is physical Precious Metal stacking. I would tent to agree with @hardyakkagold that would be less than 1 percent of population....

Well let's see, there's 101 odd stackers online minus the bots so that makes it what 80? haha..
Nah, I'd estimate around 1% of 1%, very tiny population, if this ever grew seriously, the price would be much, much higher, not to mention in the 60's, just gold represented approx 5% of global financial assets, by 1980, gold's share was down to 2.74%....from memory, there is now much less than 1% of global financial assets in precious metals... again if that grew to what I would have thought would be a more reasonable number say 2-3%?) the price I believe would be much much higher. Another fun fact, just roughly while I type... the world population is around 7.9 billion, there is about 244 metric tonnes of gold, above ground and known underground, that equates to around 30 grams per person. So less than 1 ounce each...

But I think it's growing. Despite what ppl say bout cryptos taking away from precious metals, i think its other way around, just not very clear to see in that way at moment.

Women have been stacking PMs in the form of jewellery all their lives. My wife has about AGW 10oz of gold in her jewellery box going back over 40 years we’ve been together.

I havent met any other stackers in the US bedside my lcs and my son haha.
My sons dad in law has been talking about buying some gold and silver and asking us questions about it.
That family comes from a lot of S African cattle money and they have alot more wealth to preserve than I ever will.
I'm surprised they dont already have a family hoard stashed away or at least know the importance of having the solid savings.

25 million or so inhabitants of the continent.
1% is 250,000, also described as a quarter of a million.

    So this is a viewpoint:
18% of investors and 1.42% of the Australian population owned two properties. 5.5% of investors or 0.43% of Australians owned three properties. 2% of investors or 0.16% of Australians owned four investment properties. 0.8% of investors or 0.065% of Australians owned 5 investment properties.

I'd optimistically say 10,000 PM enthusiasts per state - 60,000 or so, meaning perhaps 0.25% of Oz residents, or thereabouts.
