why is the price of this 250g 999.9 baird and co printed bar slightly less than this 250g 999 umicore cast bar?
what makes that umicore bar more valuable than the baird bar? Screenshot 2021-02-05 at 02.35.15.png

Nothing, it might have cost more for your local stockist to import the umicore

Buy gold, like a half sov instead. In the UK the VAT on silver makes it likely a poor investment.
Also consider the CGT - only British silver coins are exempt (when you sell).

Welcome to silver my friend. I suggest you bring a pillow and blanket, the journey takes alot longer than your estimate of a couple years

Certain bars and coins attract higher premiums the moreglobaly recognised,or better theanti counterfeit measures,eg rcm mapleleafs, quite often the higher the premium.but not a foolproof formula.ie us eagles most widely known bullion coins globaly hence higher premiums

I thought the same thing when I started buying silver roughly 10 years ago.
I don't see the low prices as a bad thing really, it will eventually do a thing and the longer it doesn't is more time to accumulate.

have you checked “the silver forum”? I believe they have good deals through the backyardbullion and the europeanmint? I personally treat silver as a hedge and a form of long term savings rather than investment. If looking for investment, uk REITs and property is looking relatively attractive in my opinion.
