Just check any Coca Cola Sovereign with an XRF before you buy one. There are fakes out there with no gold content! IMG-20201221-WA0006 by Aurora et luna posted Dec 22, 2020 at 1:43 PM
There's plenty of fake Morgans out there! Usually fabricated from base metals. This one is actually fabricated with a higher purity than the original 20201222_190242 by Aurora et luna posted Dec 22, 2020 at 7:04 PM 20201222_134625 by Aurora et luna posted Dec 22, 2020 at 6:59 PM
Sorry, I didn't physically handle the Sovereign so unable to comment! Unfortunately it was part of a group of coins offered and I had to crop the rest of the pic. I did have a look at the Morgan and its a good copy however to an experience eye obviously fake. I was just surprised by its silver content.
This is the third fake coin in the batch 1915 20 Kopeks Supposed to be 50% XRf at 78% IMG-20201221-WA0002 by Aurora et luna posted Dec 22, 2020 at 7:24 PM IMG-20201221-WA0005 by Aurora et luna posted Dec 22, 2020 at 7:24 PM
Yes have to wonder if it's a real loss if you're paying based on spot. Only loss for whoever bought on numismatic value
I didn't buy it! I despise fakes! Just told the buyer to flip it to Boyscout as he's into US coins. A fake Morgan dollar with a high silver content might be an interesting talking piece
