We got our well drilled last week finally, been waiting all summer. We picked a good spot and just out the front door, produces 4 gallons a minute. Now we need to get the hand pump and a solar setup. I'm excited! Starting to feel like a real homestead now.
I found an entire kit from Rural Power Systems and it's on the way for one ounce of gold. From the panels to the pump and everything in between is included. All I need to get is the grounding spike and a 4.5 inch pipe for the solar panels to mount on, also whatever spigot I want for the tap.. I'm super excited to have water. The lady there I was dealing with said a guy had water pumping in a hour and 7 minutes from unboxing so my son and I will try to beat that of course. My wife has been a real soldier through this off grid adventure haha. What a woman.
I was so excited tonight, before it got dark I went out and shoveled out the well head and found a wheelbarrow and our ash can. It's been a good day. Also i learned that if i take a pic with my wife's fone and text it to my fone it downsizes it for me so i can post pics! Theres nothing like outside work during a Gunnison winter. I'm practically a computer genius now.
It's my wife's car but it's not bad yet. She will wash it after spring when the mud dries up. It's a losing battle anyway and costs a half oz of silver every time, stays clean for about 30 seconds. Like the wise man says, " a man with a dirty car has the money still in his pocket."
An investment in my sanity. Hang on its fishing. Used once in Sth Africa apparently to chase trout. $200, bargain. Nice bloke too the guy I bought it off. Xplorer Guide2, 5wt.
I hung out at the car with the dogs while my wife went into the store today. She came out and said ground beef went up almost 4 bucks. Yep I spent $14 on a tube of hamburger today. It's about time to shoot an elk.
We had elk tacos the other day....delicious! It's nice having south african neighbors that like to big game hunt haha. They feed us well.
I was the stellar cartographer (mapmaker) back in 1947, am not the moron controller (pilot) who managed to get sucked into a well-characterized planetary gravity well in a craft not designed for atmospheric entry. The quality control at the cloning vats must have been malfunctioning with that controller, that one should have been decommissioned and recycled. As for Canadian mooseburger, that was post-2000.
