No doubt the gold to silver ratio will narrow further especially if inflation eventually comes, but silver is really volatile, takes courage.
I was wondering who have cause this sudden Dive. That's explain it now. Thank you Makes this purchased Cheaper. 200 x 100 oz.
I picked up 5 more Peace dollars today but nothing more, traveling for work. Waiting to go to my usual bullion guy the other direction my next day off. Hes a little cheaper and more geared towards turnover so I spend more with him. The Peace dollars are mostly culls and one has a dent in the rim. It may have been in a gangster's pocket in 1926 when he was thrown from a bridge. Who knows. They are my worst 5 silver dollars I'd say but they are my babies and I lovem. My other guy might get a thousand from me if he has some stock or even a quarter oz of gold mixed in is fine. I'm easy either way. It's such an awesome savings for me and works so well. Cash would be gone so so easy.
4 peace dollars, a Morgan and 3 crowns.. 25 bucks each... I couldn't say no! I'm picking up some gold later today, something a bit different...
I had hoped to make a trip to my lcs but hes closed till the 15th "to prepare for the holidays" whatever that means haha. I went ahead and ordered a 20g gold volcambi in assay and a 5g secondary gold bar from apmex. I always enjoy going to the lcs and it sucks hes closed but apmex is fair and easy to order from. I have 100:1 silver to gold so figured I'd just get the gold this time. It's amazing how they are out of so much stock but I'm never very picky since I'm just a stacker anyway. Gold is gold is gold to me and the less premium the better. Then an hour after I placed the order for the gold my son texted me that he was going through his stack to see what he wanted to keep or sell. He and his wife need cash for a greenhouse they are building. We had talked about it a month ago and I said I would buy whatever he needed to sell. Id rather keep it in the family so it goes from his stack to mine and I'll pay him more than the lcs would and cash in hand. Keep it in the family, dont let it leave once it's in the family. Tomorrow I might go over there and see what all he has but problem is I already ordered gold haha. I might need to buy some of his just to help him out and I wasnt planning on it but cash sitting around isnt doing any good for me right now so I might as well. He is my son after all! Dang kids.
I ended up buying 120 ounces yesterday from my sons stack. He needed to raise quick cash and I offered him $25 per ounce which was $1+ over spot yesterday. Ended up with a nice assortment, some engelhard bars, a couple silver eagles, tubes of generics, a little junk silver, some collector type one off rounds, two pandas and various size bars, one ouncers, a four and some tens. One thing I can say as a father, I was impressed with his stack and I was very proud of him for saving all that. He said he didnt want to sell anymore but that it was the fastest way to raise cash and at least it stays in the family and I agreed. It was a good trade and this way he doesnt need to owe anyone or feel that he does. He was cost averaged down pretty well from the last few years of cheap prices so I feel like he made out fine and got all his cash back plus some and I was happy to have some cash on the side. He wouldnt sell me any of the stuff from his "keep" stack hehe. Not for $25 anyway! Now I need more ammo cans to put it in and room in my safe haha. Be your own bank!
If your going to keep your stack at home it's wise to never tell anyone, even here in case your identity/address is ever discovered thru trade or whatever.
