Hi guys, I usually stick to modern Perth Mint silver bullion, but recently picked up a couple of high relief Mongolian Majestic Eagle coins made by CIT. Mintage for the silver is 2.5 and copper 5k and they seem to have sold quite well (judging from most online dealers being out of stock). The 1oz silver has great depth and appears to jump out of the page. The 50g copper has the same diameter as the silver, but has even more depth to it and sharper angles. The colour of the metal really suits the coin, with contrasts in the shading accentuating the 3D look. Also have a 10oz on the way, which should be large enough to really do the design justice! Has anyone else picked these up?
I bought each from a different dealer: Copper - Melbourne Coin Co 1oz Silver - Fortuna Collectibles 10oz Silver (still shipping) - SD Bullion. The copper and 1oz Silver coins are still in stock but SD Bullion are now out of stock of the 10oz. I had to search around a bit for these coins as most dealers were out of stock. They are made from Coin Invest Trust, based in Liechtenstein.
I must have ordered mine shortly before you then - It'll go nicely with the Copper one and I suppose the horrible cost is offset by the small mintage. *Update* Have to say, Fortuna appear to be pretty efficient as roughly 6 1/2 hours after ordering, Australia Post has notified me that my package "is being prepared" and a tracking number has been supplied . Not bad for a Sunday!
