I lodged three express post shipments of bullion and coins yesterday arvo. One to SA, another to NSW and third to TAS. All the same way. Box inside a pre-paid satchel. SA and NSW boxes were both delivered today. TAS shipment with silver coins and bars was intercepted at the Brisbane airport, opened, inspected and then returned to me with note saying prohibited items. They even opened the sealed roll of PM coins. To their credit, they did give me back several thousand worth of metal, but seriously folks.......
Might see a spike in lead fishing sinkers, molds and lead bars to make same being sent via Aust Post?
The thing that pisses me off with some aussie dealers they send via auspost, ok fine with me, but they charge you bloody postage insurance, and bullion is not covered by auspost insurance. So your paying for nothing. Your not supposed to send bullion either, but you rely on them not checking, Amd i doubt they would ever check domestic parcels, charging insurance you cant use is a joke.
I always send collectible tokens or ceremonial medals. Something resembling bullion bars are always automotive parts.
