Hi I need to send my stack interstate and am trying to find who might offer a secure and insurable service at reasonable rates for tens of kilos of silver, does anyone have any suggestions
Might be cheaper to sell it and re buy it unless you got 100s of thousands of dollars worth. secure freight companies are armor guard, chubb etc.
I suspect secure freight ain't going to be cheap. If you are moving interstate and don't mind driving, you maybe able to snag a "one way - relocation" or a hire car or motorhome. Cheap as chips and you get to see a bit of the country. Worth a look in if that's an option for you. Link below and others do same. Just google. https://www.drivenow.com.au/onewayrentals.jspc#/relocations/AU
Golden rule, you are sending "machine parts" Any major carrier like DHL will insure it for whatever you tell them. Just don't use Toll, they got hit with ransonware and their systems are completely shot.
FedEx seems to be the only one willing to handle suxh shipments and insure them. Next level up is g4s and chubb etc..
Never had a problem with interstate packaging myself. If it is low tens of kgs then it might be fine to package it as machine parts. If it is high tens, then maybe take up Oddjob’s idea.
Toll Not sure if they move metals for one off private individuals but they are in the business of large pm shipping.
I got this picture of a bloke in an RV thats dragging its arse on its bump stops on the highway and the cops think they should pull it over to have a look, one copper lifts up the bed to find a freshly hollowed out cavity containing 2000kg's of bullion lol. Rv driver:- Im just relocating my stack officer. lol ahaha Copper:- Then How do you explain the dead Mexican? Rv driver:- thats a long story
