It's a nice coin if you are looking to 'complete' the Kookaburra collection, but I don't see any value in buying this coin if you expect the premium to increase over time. Very few Perth Mint gold coins attract a greater premium than when sold new.
Word from dealers is it was a private mintage for Singapore with Ainslie taking domestic supply of 1500
at 7500 perhaps the premium is reasonable for a gold kook. at 15000, no. the equivalent wedgetailed eagle seems to have sunk without trace in very low 1000s mintage.
Noticed these in PM catalogue https://www.perthmint.com/catalogue/2012-discover-australia-kookaburra-gold-proof-coins.aspx Also some minted in 2009 apparently https://www.silverstackers.com/foru...pc-different-proof-2009-kook-gold-1-20.90487/
I came across the proof set of 5 while searching for mintage. BTW this mintage is 15,000. The data on the bullion sales page is incorrect.
They're working out at 254 Oz dollars for me in Ireland Roughly the same as all Australian 1/10 gold...
Kooka sold. BN also had a 2019 1 oz gold swan which sold for $2974 which seemed better value. These 2 coins must have been buybacks. Both listed late Friday night.
