New release from Perth mint at a premium price of $38. Coin looks really boring with no back ground

Very random design. Perth Mint have turned into the whore of the coin industry. Anything for a buck is their motto. But i guess the other half of the story is people buying this junk in the hope to flip a profit.

Disappointingly crap looking coin and would appear to be a one off, what else could
you follow this up with to make any kind of series out of it

I wont be touching it, which is good in one way as I will put my dollars aside as the
Perth mint already have plenty to choose from which they appear not to be able to
move...just look at their available silver 1 oz coins that they have on their bullion site
its just overkill....totally unnecessary...and huge premium for a very basic design

Just to make it worse I believe that they are using this design for other size coins
as well, unless I misunderstood, there will be a 2oz and kilo at least with this design

I am with you whay.....I am shaking my head too

    cheers grant

Yeah well I looked at this coin too and didn't get much feeling out of it. You can hardly make out the bear and you need to look closely to see that it is one. As someone else said there is no background either making it a rather dull looking coin. When you hear of a bull and a bear the first thing that comes to mind is the sharemarket and then Wall street. I would have thought a strong looking bull with some buildings like you would see on Wall Street in the background would have looked nice. Maybe a big tough bull on one side with a bear trying to claw it down on the other might have been good. Anyhow, I have no interest, a buffalo round looks better.

A different way of looking at this coin is, if it gets more people to buy silver - even if just an ounce or two occasionally - it’s a good thing for the metal, the industry and the Perth Mint. I agree though, if is a bit ho-hum looking.
