I have invited a special guest along from Melbourne to present. Shae Russell from the Daily Reckoning will be there, no topic determined, perhaps we can suggest one. Shae is presenting a keynote at the GIAC conference on the Thursday, so the timing is good. Given she works with Jim Rickards, she might know a thing or too.
I've updated the eventbrite listing with Shae as a "keynote" : ABC Bullion is proud to host and sponsor Silver Stackers' first national meet up in Sydney. A great opportunity to network & trade with fellow stackers over drinks and nibblies while listening to an update on the national and local precious metal markets. Doors open at 5:30pm for a 6pm start. Our "keynote" will be Shae Russell from the Daily Reckoning. ABC Bullion analyst Bron will do a 10 minute presentation on Gold versus Cryptos – can crypto currencies compete against gold as a safe haven? ABC Bullion’s MD Janie and logistics guru Terina will give an update on the trends ABC is seeing in the national precious metals market. Sam and Mark will then follow with a review of the local Sydney and Melbourne stackers markets, respectively. Presentations should be over by 6:45pm, leaving plenty of time for a few quickfire auctions and some buy, sell and swap among members. It is being held on the night of Wednesday 23rd October to coincide with the Gold and Alternative Investments Conference which runs from 24th to 26th.
All right, as we're almost enroute to Syd - anyone attending the meet-up with half sovs to sell, I'd be keen to buy. Any nice vintage silver bars will probably also readily find a buyer... I'll leave all the Pagnanis to @Jonesy67 though; we'll have to coexist in the same city still after this meet-up...
Ha, excellent. I may also be in the market for some low premium gold 1oz bars. Anything, any condition as long as its 999. Hopefully, XAU will break support tonight.
Free ticket available to anyone that I've done business with on this site. Tickets are normally $10 and I believe they're sold out.
Does that mean that your invitee will have to stand? lol. *Just arksin'. *Doug Hawkins Saying. ** I was there for that game. P.s. they used tp put $#!T on Doug for his inability to pronounce the WERD asking.
Good question and the answer is no. I bought a ticket, but can't attend. I also checked with ABC and they said they just need a replacement name.
As I'm crook, I won't be inflecting my germs on others tomorrow night, thus I'm happy to pass on my ticket (for free) to any SS member who couldn't get a ticket and wants to go. PM with name and email. I can send the e ticket via email to you and will let ABC know to sub your name for mine. First in, best dressed for anyone interested.
i think i'll bring a 1 kg pamp with an older cert to the meet tomorrow $860-850 depending on spot tomorrow
First time back in front of a computer since the meet. I have been moving my distilling operation from Botany to Marrickville and today is the day I pack my "smalls". I would like to thank everyone who attended and help put the meeting together, in particular Bron Suchecki, the Captain, and the ABC Bullion management and staff. It was a great night with about 50 attendees and staff keeping the night buzzing. There were a number of talks, swaps, an auction and some lucky door prizes. A great night. It is over to Melbourne now to put next year's meet together! I will gladly help.
I'd like to add my thanks to everyone involved in organising the event. It was great to meet some forum regulars - Captain Kookaburra, Sammysilver, Bron Sucheki... and lots more. Hats off to ABC Bullion for being excellent hosts. As a relative newcomer to the forum I've done about 12+ purchases here. Every transaction has been perfect, no issues, but nothing beats checking out coins 'in the flesh' and buying face-to-face (while drinking wine). I might even consider the trek down to Melbourne next year... Silverster (aka 'Tom Hanks')
It was a most enjoyable event. Many thanks to organizers and sponsors. Auctions were definitely fun. Will bring items for auction next time and cash!!!
Yes, was great to meet everyone. You'll have to agree the venue was great and our hosts fantastic. Thanks to Shae and Bron as well for presenting. The Smidgeons are officially now out in the wild.....
