Interesting new packaging with this new series http://www.perthmint.com/catalogue/...020-year-of-the-mouse-silver-proof-coins.aspx
The QEII side is not my cup of tea, I like S2's design better, the round rim area made the coin to look too busy.
Yes they are-all good days are gone. When dragon was released it took Perth Mint just over 1 hour to declare this product to be Sold Out.
Yeah, not to mention they have like 15,000 variations NOT including the privy coins. No thanks. I’m not collecting these. Have fun all. Lol
That's a pity Barsenault! I will only focus on the main bullions myself, but i honestly am excited for the future of series 3. Perhaps you are letting the variations to come (which to be fair have always been there) blind your judgement a bit, of what is an excellently executed inaugural mouse. Someone else mentioned the good days are gone. I don't see it that way either. I think it's cyclical. The last boom years in silver coin collecting came after an economic crash and silver price was on the up. Guess what, we are entering another and possibly more severe downturn, and silver is responding too. The herd mentality will return and desire for bullion (really good bullion like these) will rise too. That's my prediction anyway haha. I intend to keep having fun doing what i've never been deterred from!
good old days are gone in terms of mintage, barsenault has a point with all the variations. cant wait for the half ounce high relief coloured privy.
There is one piece I will collect from all the variations...the platinum. BUT, if the mint then makes 15,000 variations of those in Lunar, I will stop those too. They have a tendency to ruin a good thing because when greed takes over there’s no telling what privy and how many different variations they’ll come up with, if and when the platinum proves to be popular...these mints are a little batty at times - most of the time.
