Not a must have as I buy only for investment. There's very little info on this coin, no indication on the mintage policy and whether it will be a series, or whether the design will be repeated every year. If the design is repeated, as in there will be a similar coin in 2019, 2020, then it will be crazy to pay such a high premium.

i would prefer the Russian Version, there is no old lady behind
it is very risky to pay premium when the Russian can just mint and crashed the UK premium

The first coins made from platinum were minted here. In 1828, the Sankt Petersburg mint produced the first coin of this kind, a 3 rouble piece. The coin was made from pure platinum, or “white gold” as it was named back then. It had a weight of 10 g., and, as the similar Russian coins, it depicts the Imperial Eagle on one side and the value on the other, written as 3 roubles “na serebru”, literary “in silver (roubles)” that meant that it corresponded to 3 coins of 1 rouble (each 20 g.). Under the value, the mintmark SPB appeared. Circular, around the value, it was written the weight in old Russian system, that it has a weight of “2 zolotniki and 4 dolia of Ural platinum”

Has anyone got one of those QB platinum? Worth getting the Griffin or Dragon? I'm keen on one but wary of platinum prices.

I would not buy with the understanding that Pt coin buy back is below bar

Platinum Bar 1 oz SGD 1,048.46
    Platinum Coin (e.g. Eagle & Koala) - 1 oz SGD 1,037.65

I would buy Pt bars when there is good value to have, considering the long term view, the way Pd was

I’m actually considering getting into the platinums of the series this year... I have nothing but speculation to back my theory up I will admit, but I’m feeling optimistic about platinum going up this year. And if it doesn’t, then it’s not the end of the world because I want those coins also because I actually like them and am keen for the collectibility of them

Palladium is too expensive to buy, but platinum is not cheap enough. If platinum were $700, it would be a no brainer decision.

I wonder when JMBullion or Apmex will get them? This is the first one that I'll probably buy more than one of it.

The gold rendering looks much better than the silver, strangely. I'm quite sure the actual gold coin will be stunning. QB gold always looks better in real life than on photos. The gold falcon which looks silly in pictures is actually ok in real life.

Gold price is rising very quickly.

Could be LPM got a slap on the wrist from Royal Mint as the images and pre-sale have now been taken down?
Bullion by Post mentioned release day of 25 Feb on their site.

I just got an email from LPM that they’re now on presale again, clicked the link and it seems legit this time! Wonder if the other big bullion sites will be onboard soon?

Did anyone get the 2018 valiant? It’s already sold out at most of the dealers that I usually get from. The 2019 valiant is already on sale only 6 months after the 2018 valiant appeared.
