I have been to a few of these, the more people the merrier.

Usually bring along a bit of cash in case anyone offers you something interesting. Have a rough idea what sort of prices are being asked online for common items you are interested in etc. Bring anything you want to sell as well, saves postage costs.

I have seen a few auctions and some demonstrations of coin cleaning and people giving info on their area of interest. good time to network with people who share an interest and useful for future trades etc.

Or bring along something you want a bit more info on or price estimate on etc.

I usually don't buy things unless I have made arrangements beforehand, if anything i will probably bring some round 50s along to see if anyone is interested in saving on postage, set a price and get people to put in an expression of interest so i have a rough idea of how many to bring and take any remaining home with me. no high finance for me but i have seen serious money being spent at these meetings.

I mostly just come along for a chat and a drink.

Happy with that location, it is the place I went last time. I'm ok with the $150 room hire option. Better people keep the $ and spend on Metal.

If we can get 15 people that’s only $10 a head which I’m definitely ok with paying. It’s been quite some time since we have had a good stacker meeting so hopefully we can get a decent gathering, 20-30 people would be awesome.

Id also be interested depending on day / times. Would anyone involved have access to an XRF machine by chance ?
This might help attract a few more members, even if it is just to check a few coins. Food for thought :)

Will try and rustle up an XRF for the meet. Can't bring ours up, but will try and borrow a local one.

Bullion Now and Little Coin Shop will cover the $150 room hire. If anyone wants to donate any items to the auction to go towards the room hire then that would be good too.

Ok- The Lord Stanley is booked for the 17th of February from 2.00pm until 5.00pm.

Bring yourself, your friends and family, anything you want to auction and your money to buy the bargains.

If there's anything specific people would like to see/purchase let me know and I'll do my best to bring it up with me.

I think there will also be at least 1 door prize up for grabs too.

OK, I can bring along something to auction to go towards the overheads and I have a few other items I wouldn't mind bringing along to either auction or sell.

If anyone is keen on any round 50s I can bring some along, I don't have much else to sell and I have reached my stacking goals, but I do have a weakness for silver cutlery...

I think we need to create a new thread for this actual meet with a title that is more relevant and shows that it is ON and when etc. Similar to the way each Melb meet has a separate thread.

I asked the same question before going to my first Melb meetup. The answer I got was "Lots of $$!" or be able to organise payments another way. Ive been to about a dozen meetups and lots of stuff (mainly CKs) went way cheap...plenty at or below spot back when the going buyback price WAS spot.

Any members could bring their own stuff to be auctioned or traded and some rare and interesting stuff got sold at a good premium. Also some bargain stuff as rare as buggery going for premiums of bullion PM coins(this is the bit about being able to buy if you can afford to).

If you want to buy/sell/trade anything like 1kg silver or gold it may pay to start a sales thread before the meetup (with pics maybe) and guage interest especially if you want a high premium. If your happy to rock up and sell/trade/auction on the day that's fine too.

Malaachi always had plenty of collectible items and now he's got a business full of the stuff.

One meet I was able to buy some englehard 1oz gold blobs for spot which was then $1362. Another meet I won an auction of 3 x SilverStackers 1kg bars at spot plus $3 an ounce because very few had the funds to buy all 3 and no advance notice they would be there caught many unawares. I was able to grab them using electronic payment. Take cash for smaller trades but anything bigger get from ATM as required if needed or do electronic transfer.

I had to drive 130km to meetups but it was always a good arvo (even if not getting great deals) except for occasional issues with coffee.

Hope all who go enjoy themselves and put some faces to usernames. Sadly many Ive met are uglier than they appear to be on here, but all very good people. :)
