I am wondering if anyone has any information about these commemorative florin medallions. I bought them a long time ago before i had any sense wrt gold/silver/coins. I got them from AE Jewellers in Adelaide who said they were 6oz each of .925 silver, however i didnt ask anything else. im looking to sell them but want some solid information especially of their origin first. if someone could help that would be great
6oz ? Or is the correct weight 190 grams ? I have 190 gram SS medallions of the 1855 Sydney Mint Sovereign & 1852 Adelaide Pound .... These were made by Downies and sold for $495. each ( not sure how long ago ).
better pics but looks like the 1927 is a proof, a set maybe worth more kept together. found this one on ebay but not much over issue https://www.ebay.com/itm/1927-Silver-Proof-6oz-Australian-One-Florin-Parliament-House/122686606487
they are 6oz, i have a 1g scale and they all come up 187g. they might be a downies product too then. cheers
