I found a big bunch of gold by accident whilst doing some work. Bought a metal detector and had a good go at it (probably should of done it for longer in hind sight) then pegged the ground. I bought the lease next to mine then sold them both. I've since found more areas producing gold in a very simple way not normally practiced. I call it lucky or tin arsed.
It is already pretty much agreed i am pretty slow on the uptake so i am struggling to see why this thread was posted. Could you elaborate a bit may be? I am quite interested in gold hunting and always keen to hear stories of success or failure. Cheers
Well, I've been a stacker for sometime and interested in prospecting but something happened in my life some years back that changed everything so I made a move for a lifestyle change. I did some research which helped but the point of the story is this, I found a gold deposit which seems to be a little special a Witswatersrand deposit. Little did I know but people really want to get there hands on these types of things and here I was just thinking that walking around picking up gold nuggets was the lucrative part. The company I done a deal with shares are moving up very fast on this find. So I pegged the lease, bought next doors lease for bugger all then on sold them which is still ongoing but this was all in less then 12 months. I then discovered there is more gold out there then I thought but it's just a matter of walking over top of it. I'm now looking at pegging a second lease. How does that affect you or anyone else I hear you say well I'm no geo not old time prospecters I'm just a guy that when out and had a look and fell over a deposit so if it could happen to me then it could for you.
@ dusty, are we talking the same ground you pulled all those nuggets out of a few years back and then posted on this forum? Or is this a "pump and dump"?
1, We're did I say I pulled nuggets out of the ground a few years back? I think you will find your incorrect. 2, I don't want anyone to buy shares in any company. 3, My point is if people want to prospect or want a hobbie that gives you some gold and could pay off then try prospecting.
Because it explains the deposit I found (it is the deposit I found). Sounds better through the media.
Lol well the interview explains the deposit I found last year and if it was a pump and dump well I highly doubt many people here trade the Toronto stock exchange. Let's call the topic "silverstacker finds gold" a stacker goes bush grabs a metal detector and finds the first Witswatersrand deposit in the history of the Pilbara then sells to Canadian gold company. It beat sitting at home waiting for the silver price to go up.
Witswatersrand deposit - are you serious, don't get caught up in the gold fever bullshit , take the profit and go
Are you ready for this Bullion baron. I done a lot of reasearch online and looked around only whilst working so effectively getting paid whilst I looked. I was doing some work (non mining) when I stumbled onto Purdys/Comet Well and borrowed a metal detector to check it out. Only the second time I'd used a detecter. Pure Luck. The original lease cost maybe 5k that includes the survey etc. The next lease I paid effectively nil, I offered another person the chance to buy in no he covered the costs for a piece and two weeks later there was a knock at the door.
Certainly not caught up in the gold rush I stay clear of the area now and look for new places to explore and I've done a deal so effectively out. It is a Wits deposit but how big is the question?
Anazing. Let me suggest you contact the manufacturer of the metal detector and offer a testimonial along with your fine story on commercial terms. Assuming it was a Minelab product, otherwise keep quiet. "Minelab - it's a gold mine slung from a shoulder strap" http://codan.com.au
I had the opportunity to have breakfast with both Brent Cook and Bob Moriarty as well as a few other interesting people and talk about this project and a few other things on gold. It's a very unusual feeling knowing what's going on and then watching an announcement come out and seeing the reaction of the market. It's similar to reading the first few chapters of a book and watching as everyone else only gets a few pages read to them at a time. I believe the price will drop and it should but I also know what's to come. I cannot claim to know what the total oz's will be but I know what's on Comet Well as it was mine to know and sell but Novo are not in a position to release any hard data from there until it's granted. These guys that have all visited Comet Well and Purdys are no fools and they all know but it's hard to believe until the drills go down.
