Now, I can announce the mystery version of the THO #2 is bimetallic gold and silver panda as same as the 35th anniversary panda coin. Same technology will be used for non fiat coin.

The early year bimetallic gold & silver panda coin was as following:-
    upload_2017-6-6_11-3-10.png

    upload_2017-6-6_11-3-30.png

Outer is silver and with all wording like year, purity of the metals, weight & others. The inner rim are the panda and temple of heaven. Those are older technology as compare to the new coining technology which merge the design into one regardless of silver and gold as following:-

Anyone notice the panda fur at bottom right which combine the gold and silver as one instead of older technology which is unable to achieve this result !!!! This the main adventure and trend by China Mint now.

Shanghai mint use another technology for the bimetallic and patented trimetallic which I will disclosure it when free.

Top news Andy!! If the quality is any where near what those pictures suggest for the 35th panda then it should prove to be an epic finish for #2. Are you matching the anniversary panda and going for 30g silver and 12g gold?

Will do the reverse cycle which gold smaller than silver in term of diameter and weight. 3g gold and >3g x silver. So this become a "YIN & YANG" philosophy in China.

Both designer are from different panda coin design master Mr Zhu for the fiat coin and Mr Cheng for the non fiat coin.

Just a thought, is it possible to combine them in a non circular shape, or the technology isn't quite there yet? Of course the shape would be reversed on the back, but the outer design could be different.

Possible if you use the patented technology of Shanghai mint if I am not wrong. However you prepare to pay multi Mio dollar for the minting machine.

Nice one. 3g gold sounds about right. 30g gold would have been wayyy too pricey! With all the extra silver to pad it will we see some pretty decent relief too? Is the gold solid front to back or is it essentially gold plated?

It is solid gold. Gold plated yet to achieve a good result at the mint.

Nanjing mint has commissioning 5 silver 1 oz coins sets for one company which were gold plated and enemal. However personally I do not like the result and effect.

I cannot publish the photo here.

This time the silver & gold bimetallic TOH #2 thickness would be almost double of the 3 g Gold TOH #1. Tentatively diameter would be 10 mm vs 18 mm as comparing to last time. The silver would add extra to the size of the coin in order to make the overall diameter bigger than 18 mm with double tickness in order to make the relief like panda coin.

The Bimetallic silver & Gold version will pre order soon. It has no ag & au and weight at the coin BUT stated clearly in the coa and assurance from official mint which is owed by China government. It is official mint instead of private mint which has no assurance from Government at all.

Nothing to dislike about those photos. Looking great! So what was the reason for not having the metal and weight on the coin - maximising room and hence relief of the pandas?

The diameter a bit small to put in the weight and purity plus it will destroy the design.

You notice all bimetallic panda coins which they make a special outer rim to put the weight and purity which make the domain design look smaller. It need think out of box and differentiate with others.

However I am awaiting Someone to put romour and attacking again with xxxxx

I think purity would be nice as I guess some are pulling tricks on this (especially from non gov mints), but for weight I have never understood the fuzz except when it comes to bullion stuff. But that's my opinion. I have never been a bullion buyer so I guess those from that camp see it differently.
