    Do you have a point?
I just made 10 times my money in a handful of months on a "currency" that can't buy anything in the real world, and where almost all of it's growth and worth is pure investor speculation.
Sure it might still go up (hint, it's guaranteed to, because I sold :D ), but will it go up another 10 times to $2300?
And what then? Go up another 10 times to $23,000?
I can buy back in at any point it drops below what I sold it at and I'm ahead in terms of actual ETH. The odds of that are I think better than it never going back down again.

Mate, get over yourself. The point was to highlight the buy in price at that point in time and nothing more.
People like yourself are ..... Oh never mind.

Sorry, I thought you were replying to my comment, seems you weren't, my mistake.
No need to make it personal.

My apologies then, I can see now the similarity in the charts posted and how you thought I was making a random post based upon yours, so again apologies for the personal comments.
I am in fact quite chuffed for you knocking up a ten bagger on ETH, it's great to see and the smart person takes the profit when and where they can.
ETH is far more than a currency though, it is more of a platform for performing all sorts of functions in the real world.

Crazy stuff when you think that Aussie pensioners are getting absolutely raped on their super and other bankster investments. I was doing some rough calculations just on Bitcoin and Eth compared to an Oz of Gold just on twelve months ago this arvo with a mate and came out with roughly 3 bitcoins or more for an Oz of gold back then compared with the over $15,000 in today's value in $AUD give or take a little, ETH would be far higher right now though. $15 US or there about's equals about just under $22000 SAUD at this point in time for a single Oz or about $1700 in fiat for the same return.
All the while most pensioners have worked hard their whole lives and the majority of the future ones are slaving away under a system that is manufactured to screw them all as hard as it can.
You can piss more than an Oz of gold up a wall in coffee, grog and lunches easily in a year, vitamins and minerals, gym fees and fancy clothes/shoes/makeup and other assorted crap. Credit fees alone.....

Of course if you cant afford to lose it don't risk it, but if you are pissing your hard earned away anyway ???

    No worries.

I'm going to look like a wally though if it keeps going up like it is!
But locked in profits are locked in profits.
It actually dipped by >10% just after I sold it. That would have been a day traders delight.

I wasn't too far off the top (at least for now), selling in the $230's
Sure it went higher, but not for long.
I'd like to think I called it fairly well, but:
    a) Too early to tell
    and
    b) I just guessed :D

Of course now that I've said that, it's guaranteed to go to $300, buy now!

Who's the genius right about now then ? If you have the fiat to lose, right about now is the time to buy ETH.
Time your purchases and then hold. Only a matter of time.

So ETH just rebounded 40% in less than 2 days.
Crypto has got to the greatest (and wildest) day trading opportunity of all time surely?
Is anyone using a system that automatically trades when it hits a +/- threshold?

I believe you can easily set buy/sell orders on Poloniex if that's what you're looking to do.

Looks like CoinSpot let you set automatic buy and sell limits, but only for BTC/LTC/DODGE, no ETH

    Wow, new record high, amazing.
Whoever bought that dip 3 days back could have made a 66% gain in 3 days.

not even close, im making approx $33 AUD / PROFIT day(over 0.1 ETH) currently i have passed break even point for the new hardware i purchased I had a bit of hardware left over from when I spent just under 20k on mining hardware in the last craze (2013/14) and that is only with 8 x cards.

What are the specs of your mining rig?

I've been toying with the idea of building a rig, or at least a mutli-purpose PC.

ive only slapped a few rigs togheter out of mostly old parts

    I ahve 8 x gpu's inj 4 x PC's so not the ideal set up

    2 x RX580's
    2 x 290X's
    1 x 1080ti
    3 x 280x's

it is hard to get your hands on the rx580's atm so to build a new 6-8 GPU rig on one MB is possible if you can get the cards

Thanks for sharing. I would have thought the power cost on some of the older GPUs would have made them uneconomical. Do you know what the power usage and hash rates are of all your cards?

I was looking at getting a GeForce GTX 1070 to play with and if it went ok then maybe with a few risers I could max out my old PC with 3 or 4 of them.

I only plan to get another 12 months out of my current workstation before getting a new one and since you don't need great RAM or MOBO I thought it might be a good use of my older stuff to convert my workstation into a mining rig.
