I don't think I would be the only old timer having trouble. My silver dealer mate here in Bundaberg (aged under 50) used to think the SS site was tops but now he thinks it is harder to use.

Q's. Where is the calculator now. How to post replies replies seems harder to find. Why is the type lighter?

Will keep trying to understand new site! IMO simplicity is the best. Do I Really care what others think of my posts and do I want to know!

    Regards Errol 43

I agree Errol, old site was easier to navigate. New site has more features though, but apart from security measures none of them have improved my experience of the forum. Just keep plugging away mate and realise that as you get older, you're going to move beyond the target demographic.

When you switched to the new forum did you start another account? - I only ask because under your avatar it says you joined on...April 12, 2017 - and only have 3 posts (which is now listed as messages) - when the member data was 'migrated' from the old forum over to the new one, (posts/or/messages) stats came along with that.

& yes I agree the new forum is very difficult, I also agree - simple is best, I still can't login with anything other than internet explorer, chrome, firefox no go.
IMO - God help any newbie trying to buy something, by the time they work out the functions they will have been beaten to the post.

No need for all the bells and whistles IMO - just makes things more confusing :(

Use https guys - I can't enforce it until the old forum entirely shuts down.

omg omg omg - By using that https thing I just got back in on chrome
Without that cookie thing i posted in the Questions thread.
I wish I knew the answer to me not being able to login on chrome or firefox was so simple.
You could have told me this before, it would have saved a lot of facepalming and keyboard punching :)

This was the thread in question https://www.silverstackers.com/forums/index.php?threads/chrome-login-trouble.84153/

I agree with shiney stick with it errol ya old fossil .
Its not that different from the old one for me anyway. I dont do a lot only log in & click the new posts like i used to . Its just in a different spot now . It would have been better at the top of the page like the old forum so we dont have to scroll to click on it but thats life i guess.
The only thing i dont like is the multiple quotes thing i have to click twice where the old one you only clicked on it once & it quoted automatically . Im sure its better for multi quotes but i rarely multi quote so its one extra click for me .
Its easier to upload an image now so its a bit of give & take .

Click "reply" under the specific post you want to quote - automatically inserts the quote for you in one click.
