Does anyone have any idea on the story/history on this round? It has " Silver Roo, 100 grams, Series 1, .999 Fine Silver" on the front and has "Weight Assay Certified by ANZMEC, The Australian and New Zealand Metal Exchange Company Pty Ltd and 1975" at the back. It comes with a little card with a bit of information from "Associated Silver Traders Pty Ltd" in Collins St, Melbourne. From the phone number listed, it look like from the '80's. I have seen 1 before at Universal Coin Co in Melbourne, and they are not for sale (ie display purpose). Has anyone seen this before? Thank You [imgz=http://forums.silverstackers.com/uploads/7352_roo1.jpg][/imgz] [imgz=http://forums.silverstackers.com/uploads/7352_roo2.jpg][/imgz] [imgz=http://forums.silverstackers.com/uploads/7352_roo3.jpg][/imgz]
I picked up 2 last week and was going to post the same sort of questions you have bloomst!! You beat me too it, yet again. Mine are not in display boxes and only one is stamped with a year on the back.
Howdy folks. My first post here. I am sorting out some stuff for insurance and found this post. I have 4 of these and they belonged to my Dad. They are all in the velvet case as pictured above. Do you guys have an idea what people are prepared to pay for them. I do not want to sell them as they are sentimental. I know how much they are in silver but do they much extra value as a collectable?? Thank you
Nice round I wouldn't mind one of these in my stack, must keep an eye out. One sold on the bay recently... original asking price was $100 and was sold to a best offer. Another is currently listed at $199 with no bids.
