Just how rare are these bars? Been a collector of rare gold cast bars for many years and always had great difficulty sourcing an Engelhard at a decent price; however lately the flood gates has opened. In the past month I have managed to source over half a dozen examples at reasonable premiums ($200 above spot) which seems to be the going rate on Silverstackers at present. A member here claims there are only about 1000 examples out there but is unable to provide a link or source. So how many members here actually own one or more of these bars?
 Only 1000 made Yeah right  I'm sure I've seen more than 100 of them over the last few years I believe people who bought gold in the late 70's-early 80's bought these ,& they have slowly been solved of in the last few years 1000 made
Chip quoted those figures; he claimed he sourced it from the net However I can't find any supporting evidence anywhere :/ Just in case anyone has the information; I am interested in a ball-park number for Harrington, Golden West and Engelhard 1oz bars. Cheers
A bump just in case this tread has been overlooked Also any info, pics or links relating to 1\2oz, 2oz, or even larger engelhards appreciated Cheers
Try this website : http://allengelhard.com/ At the top of the page, click collection, then click englehard, then fill in the spaces (select 1oz , Australian , au ) then press search Shows mintage of 2000
Would be interested in swapping another 1oz Engelhard bar for this particular one http://allengelhard.com/item/1oz-au-ingot-australia/
And where do they get the figures from ? Made them up on the spot They can't go around quoting figures unless they were there & actually took note of how many were made
You made a claim with numbers It took you how long to get to that page & than how long did it take for you to share the link There is another site with Engelhard info , I don't have the link & I can't be bothered They only quote figures in the 1000's - 10'000 & most figures are quoted with " ? " I've done my research in Engelhard
