WBI 109.06 not bad :) however I think it needs to based on more than just posts vs trades as some people on here contribute a lot more than selling or buying with their ideas and arguments.

Nah, the doofus who invented the Windbag Index knew nothing about the forum, and cared even less for our highfalutin' witty discussions on matters great and small...

Come up with your own index!

    Ok can of worms
Dose anyone elese think that the un spoken and mandatory fourm discount is something that needs to be adressed?
Now this is fine if your buying something and looking to get cheep silver but if your trying to sell, its soul crushing hell I have dropped my price to make a quick sale
Because it's expected that sellers have to drop the price, selling something for its value?how dare he! at the same time that's face it a 1oz silver coin is only really worth it's weight in silver hence spot, all other value is man made premium
I am not haveing a go I just wondered if anyone elese had noticed this and is ment to be a discussion (light hearted) not a flame war
    Trolls need not respond

Yes prices here are not the same as fleebay
Depending on what 1oz silve coin is
And yes certain people will put it on newbies to sell to them "because I have to sell on fleebay & make a profit "

if you are selling why are you expected to lower your price? Isnt up to you on what platform you sell on?

As an example, ebay & paypal takes about 13% from the seller so if you can get 1% to 100% or more in premium why wouldn't you sell it on ebay.

If a quick sale is what your after (which is different to maximum profit) than lowering your price will do that, no matter what platform you do it on.

ie try to sell a mint 2014 WTE on ebay or SS for...

$99 likely to take time on ebay platform but it wont sell on SS
$70 will take less time on both, but still likely to sell faster on ebay than SS
$50 I bet you would have instant on both platform

20 x WTE 2014 in one lot at $1400 likely to sell faster here

Totally understand where you're coming from, but sadly that's how 'supply and demand" works. Regardless of what you're selling, be it real estate, vehicles or precious metals, what you paid for it is irrelevant, it's only worth what someone else is willing to pay.

If you don't need to sell, then hang on to it. If you need to sell, then unfortunately you gotta meet the market :(

I'm not one to cause a scene. I try my best to help and contribute as much as I can here because I believe in giving back to what has given me so much, but I just feel like something needs to be said now

We have a user here "galvanise" who continues to "back up buzz" peoples sales thread at spot pricing

The sellers have clearly listed their prices, yet he continues to come in with back up buzz low balling, and I find it quite offensive

I've noticed this happening for quite some time, but there was a thread last week where he did it again, and was called out for it, but now in a new thread he has done it again, which to me shows a clear lack of respect to the SS community.

I remember getting a PM from him earlier in the year offering me spot and he wanted free postage!

If people want to sell at spot, or are in need of quick cash and decide to reduce their initial asking price to spot then they will clearly state so in their listing

I hate that I have to do this and call someone out, but he clearly doesn't care and I'm sure I'm only saying what plenty of others are already thinking

Thanks John I'll upgrade sometime this year to support the team. I actually haven't taken the time to checkout the entire site yet I've only been looking at the selling/buying thread...

Can we call people out for trying to sell coins at a large premium to what they are available at the 'usual' online dealers right now for? Seems scammy to me.

No you cannot. That is the whole point of the request not to post unsolicited comments.

Most overpriced items just sit there unsold.

Interesting to see from page 1 of this thread, 6 years ago back in 2013, the same discussion. A poster back then was concerned about people new to silver stacking getting ripped off, which is the same concern I have. I understand it is impossible to monitor, who decides how much is too much etc etc. But just because somebody has a high post count does not mean they are trustworthy. Occasionally I see sales threads that make me shake my head, so I've just built my own "never buy from that person" list.
