Every time I get change, I check for shiny, and colored $2 coins. When one of my 3 kids are watching, they roll their eyes and make some sort of smart ar$& remark.
Are other SS members subject to similar derision from their close family/cheeky teenage children? Just wonder'in.

Found a 2015 Rememberance Day Orange ring $2 coin in change. Gee I didn't think it would get into circulation that quick.

Yesterday, I also found a 2015 Orange Ring $2 coin in change. I was quite surprised to see it in my change, as I didn't think it would be in circulation that quick. Am holding onto that coin.

Over the last few months, I try spending an amount where I can get coins in my change rather than spending an amount in getting notes back where possible.

I get weird looks because I scan every penny at work... little do they know 2012's go for around $1 each... I also pick out pesos daily.... those don't make for a profit....I've never used one in Mexico lol

I usually check all my change before throwing it in my wallet, I am sure the shopkeepers must think I am tight as hell if I am checking small change for fakes or to see if they shortchanged me. I do get family members bringing me commemorative $1 coins from years ago and asking if they are rare because "they have never seen one like it before". They tend to assume that anything that isn't a Mob of Roos must be rare.

Got my first Orange Ring $2 coin in change yesterday, so they have made it to North Brisbane.

I go through the majority coins that come through the shop I work at. Today I found this 2006 $1 coin. On the obverse there is a "missing zero". If you look really close you can see that it is still there . I was just wondering if this is not a mint mistake how someone could rub down the zero to almost non existent. The "missing zero" seems to be as old as the coin. I was just wondering if anyone knew more info about this coin.

hard to say but I assume you know you wont be retiring on the proceeds. you will do best auctioning it on ebay and hoping that 2 people want it but I cant really see it going over $20 as condition is an issue here. Personally it would go in my error coin file if I found it but that's just me

Definitely post mint damage, probably imprinted with a stamp(?) and hammer. I've seen several of these, either with the number 1 or 4. They would either be for poops or giggles or if someone wanted to track where some coins are going IIRC

Ooo what's the #3 special? Is it worth buying a set of numbered stamps for?
