Hi guys, Looking to set a NORFED 1/4oz and a Chinese Panda 1/10oz into bezels for a silver necklace. Looking for 925 sterling silver bezels. I want something that looks good... What is your opinion? I worry the screw will come undone and fall out.
Looks good = expansive My jeweller mate just did an old Greek coin for a customer $900 in silver You'll never see another one like No matter how you go about it , the coin will always be marked Unless you get the bezel done using the coin still inside the capsule
Like spanner says they won't be made cheaply but can turn out really well. Not all bezels have the screw, some have claw setting holding the coin in and others secured into a bezel that is soldered the whole way around
I don't mind if the coin gets marked. The NORFED coin cost $15 and the Panda was previously in a bezel so it won't make me cry. So far I'm leaning toward one of these: http://bezel.com/sipln.html#AUSL Would prefer a solid bail and not 100% sold on the claw idea... But I think it beats the crew job. I need to find out which ones will fit too haha...
For anyone interested, I think the website http://www.esslinger.com/ is the go. Prices are incredibly cheap and they have a massive range. Found the silver bezel and bail I am after for the Panda coin - I will just go with the screw job for now. Once I find out the diameter and width of the NORFED 1/4 I will ask them to help source the right bezel for that too.
