So I have had a busy week and bought a 5gram bar off yes , ebay. It has arrived but I have no idea how to assess it, it is a Perth Mint bar with no bar number. The seller has other gold and 100% feedback, at what stage did they add bar numbers please and is there any way of getting it assessed without opening?

Never seen or heard of 5g fake with old Perth Mint logo. Packaging looks old school too. Depending on where your at, XRF, PM dealer would let you know

looks like a legit old bar, cant be 100% sure just from those low res pics, xrf would be the best bet.

pretty sure someone here on the forum was chasing bars like that, u might be able to flip it at a profit.

yes I'm now beginning to feel better about it the seller has sold other gold with positive reviews, Question can you go to any jeweller and get it zapped or does it have to be a certain place?

dont let them damage the bar or the plastic case. cos it has some numismatic value

If you state which city, members could tell you which dealers are friendly and have a xrf machine.
