    More of a wealth mismanagement story.

    Lots of mis-steps along the way, but a shocking example of how everything can blow up in your face financially.

    "Comfortable middle class couple", he runs a "thriving business" but his wife gets a carers allowance from the taxpayer? How?

    Yeah it's a joke. They weren't married so they would have just told centerlink they're just friends or housemates. And centerlink would have been like oh ok cool, nah that's fine

    It sounds like we're not getting the full story here.

    two things seem wrong;

    (#1) Credit cards are unsecured debts, attempting to collect through forced bankruptcy does seem like a misuse of the courts and unfair practice by the collection agents. Surely they could have just placed lean on the house then taken it to court for a civil court order for repayment of debt.

    (#2) How on earth do you spend $20K on your credit cards then expect if you just ignore countless letters and phone calls that no one will ever chase you up for it?

    I don't need to read any more.
    Anyone who has the means to pay off their credit card and does not is an idiot.
