Found with the trusty old Garrett on and around my leases in the Pilbara back in '89.

About 100 kms out of Marble Bar...as the crow flies.

The leases also gave up a swag of nice nuggets once we located and followed the old fossil creek bed which was well away from the old miner's camp.

    Yeah...tell me about it!

Did a couple of weeks once in the summer when the leases were registered. 50C in the shade then hammered by the remnants of the cyclones that hit the coast.

Wonder why the old timers didn't have a lot of joy and gave up to head south.

Winter was the go up there and the country around the leases was amazing. Where time stopped still.

Tin matchbox was found by some old ruins, it was the only one in perfect nic of about 20 that were located around the old camp. Also lots of old booze bottles most broken.

The geologist we were with thought the small silver engraved bottle was used for scent by the 'ladies of the night' that frequented the old camps and 'pop up pubs'.

Don't know much about the Chinese coins except that alot of Chinese were in the Pilbara during the early gold rush.

The Rising Sun was found at an abandoned camp on an expired emerald lease.

The rock specimen well that's a bit of an enigma, looks like native copper but not sure.

Wouldn't be nice if they could talk and give us more of an insight of their history.

Time in the Pilbara would have been really tough for the old timers...really tough.
