Yes, I hope you get a PF70 too. Goodluck!

Your chances of getting it also depend on if your medal was or was not pre-sorted to remove candidates for a higher grade. I don't know whom you bought it from so I can't be accused of casting aspersions on some specific individual or company.

It is not a far fetched idea. Some have said it happens. Early this year I bought some (a lot of) ungraded newly launched silver medals hoping to score PF70s as much as suggested by the grading statistics from NGC. They arrived with high COA#. Some of the OMG had been cracked open. I sent an email complaining to the company and they ignored me. I therefore sent the medals to NGC for grading and they did not grade well; definitely not as suggested by the NGC statistics. This is a company I had already spent a lot on in the previous year. This is a company I will never buy any more from!

I hope I haven't messed up your day with my pessimism and gloom!

I wish you the best of luck!

I've had the recent experience of receiving 2 sets of medals with the plastic pouch open and I was told by the seller that this is normal for some pouches to open. I was suspicious of this and I still am leery of that explanation. To me, it doesn't make sense at all that a sealed pouch opens by itself. I think next time I will not accept any medals where the pouches have been broken unless someone can explain in a very convincing manner why a sealed pouch would open by itself?

The other thing I was told by the seller is that with some medals, the mint does not seal them in plastic pouches but rather any of the several large distributors who receives the medals from the mint may do this. The seller claimed that this is the reason why for the same medal, you may see different style pouches and sealing patterns.

Can anyone who knows, confirm whether this might be true or not?

This specific topic may require a separate thread. With your permission KeepOnTrying!, may I copy your entire post if I decide to create a new thread on the issue of pouches and sealing?

Yes. That is fine with me. Perhaps there needs to be more transparency in this aspect of the business. Thanks.

Hi Everyone. It's been quiet here. Seems like our 2015 Panda Lunar Goat silver medal is pretty much depleted at the primary distributor's site (Lucky). Resales are now pushing up the price. So what to do now? Enjoy our medals, grade them and put in storage? And talk about the 2016 Panda Monkey Lunar medal or something else? Or retire this thread?

I have 10 waited for NGC Grading. Early June will be available.

I feel USD700 PCGS PF70 is too expansive in ebay.

USD450 omp also expansive. Really not sure what is the fair price.

This medal is good quality and excellent design. is USD700 like crystal art design? Does crystal art coin has resell value?

I have 4 in being graded now at NGC and 1 in the post on the way here now, i will have the results next week for them i will be selling two of them sometime in the future. Can't wait for the monkey. Any idea when it will be issued? Will these be released only once per year? Hopefully they all come back PF70

Please note than silver antique medal which has went through different extra processes of manufacturing as comparing to silver medal. Therefore, it will look a different. The cost and selling price will be higher for those extra processes which cost money and time.

Generally, silver medal will get higher grade for NGC and PCGS grading. SILVER ANTIQUE will get 1-3 grade LOWER than silver medal which is common.

This is applied to majority of the silver antique medal NOT for this series only.

This is PF67 BUT look beauty. The second is the close up photo which you can see clearly the hair line all over the places. This is no different for panda lunar series. Most good quality antique silver medals will grade PF67-68 and rarely PF69. This is expected given the finishing methods used to produce these coins. Please consider this information carefully before buying such medals. Thank you.

The god series by Perth Mints also has different toning of individual coin so this is no different here.
