I ordered my first 5 pack bag late last week. It hasn't arrived yet so I'll wait to see if I get plain or special packaging. Also if anyone didn't see it - the limit is one bag per order. I tested it out and ordered a second 5 pack a couple of days later which also went through. Not the most efficient process of buying multiple bags of coins though.
These bags are now starting to hit ebay http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/ANZAC-AU...097096?hash=item3f557b8188:g:9fwAAOSwl9BWH4OR http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/AUSTRALI...213040?hash=item4af263e5b0:g:LckAAOSw14xWH5JY
these are the only "official" bags or rolls of these coins so worth hanging on to I would think and should be in better condition also. I see no issue numbers on how many bags will be sold anyone know?
If we look at the 2013 $2 Coronation, it various form/SKU gives a different return. The highest return is on the RAM carded $1 that was $12.50 on release and followed by the RAM printed bag with 5 coins on it. I think this RAM bag offers a wider potential buyers as they are more affordable than buying the roll or bag and it actually carries some authentication that it is an "official" product from RAM. I have read people buying multiples bags of the 2015 $2, which is $20/bag ($4/coin), which is the same price per coin with the security bag that is now easily bought for $100 ($4 per coin).
So does that mean it's worth buying or not? Basically the fact that I could get a bag of 25 at the same $/coin made me pause.
If you can buy something in smaller quantity with the same price as bigger quantity, obviously its better of to buy the smaller ones.
OK, I might grab a bag or two (on separate bloody orders). Is there anything else from RAM that is worth getting at the same time to save postage? I don't really do numis so I might struggle to find anything worthwhile.
Well in my opinion it's well worth it,2 bags I was watching on ebay sold for $79.00 each not a bad little return once you take out the fees. These could even fetch over $100 by the end of the year and might even fetch more then the purple coronation as these are a lot harder to find in your change and are being hoarded.
Looks like the Mint are finally going to do more coin swaps as they do a "Changeover Tour" around Australia starting this month in NSW. http://www.ramint.gov.au/media/noticeboard/2015/20151014.cfm They should hopefully have lots of those $2 coins to swap.
Looks like the Mint have officially unveiled the coin. Source: http://www.ramint.gov.au/media/press-releases/2015/20151022.cfm You can also order a bag of five coins for $10. http://www.ramint.gov.au/media/noticeboard/2015/20151022.cfm There is also a C mint mark version available. I wonder if the Mint will also distribute rolls to coin dealers for this release?
offering the 5 coin bag its pretty safe to say dealers will not be getting rolls, guess they have to make a couple bucks somewhere on the bags. orange never had that colour before and time will tell how long it takes to burn out this $2 coloured coin idea like most mints they will over do it its just human nature.
buy something else, I picked up a loop, carded $2 and some 2015 red anzacs, total $80 plus postage of $10
