    Cheers bordsilver,

I didn't even know there was a website, I read the FAQ's here on the forum and couldn't find anything. Learn something new everyday, at least now I have a new website to look through.

One big Positive I have noticed is my inbox space.
Sitting at 85-90% full all the time I have noticed now is at 18% full without having to delete anything!

Um, that's because I noticed yours was accidentally smaller than it should have been for a site sponsor!!

Clicking on the 'Website' link in the user profile (next to their posts) takes you away from the forum.
I seem to remember it opening a new window/tab and keeping SS page intact. Could be wrong.

Still having the same issue despite being upgraded from "New Member" to just "Member".

However the signature appears to be working now as you can no doubt see.

agree with ironwood; the page refreshed before when you pressed back and that way when scanning through threads it was much easier to see which you went through and which you didnt.

Uploading of profile avatar image is not working (Profile -> Personality -> Change avatar). Tried multiple image formats (.png, jpg, .gif). Image was 90 x 90 pixels, and well below the max file size.

    Error message:

Looks like a simple folder permissions type error. A simple "chmod -R 666 avatar-directory-name/" should fix it. Most FTP programs also allow this.

Avatar issue should be fixed. Wasn't a technical challenge, just a matter of finding the time.

BB's post notification email reminded me to say that the email notification formatting is a bit up the spout.

Looks like some attempted html formatting on a plain text email format is giving double-line spacing.

Been this way since around October 17 as far as I can tell.

Makes some notifications longer to scan that's all ...

I can post a pic if it helps :)

That's entirely possible - sounds like an extra newline character or something may have snuck into the email format.

    Yep, trivial really!

Here's an exact example using the notification of your last post directly copied (from Gmail in this case, but it's the same in Outlook):

They say in 10 years Victoria may have to contend with Fire ants from our Northern Brothers.
Wonder if the Jumping jacks will let them take over?

    New Posts being mysteriously reset.

On 3 occasions now I've come back to SS with a page of a sub-forum showing "new posts" - but on a different device (eg iPad, iPhone) the slate has been wiped clean as if the "Mark all topics as read" has been clicked (when I KNOW I've got posts waiting to be read).

On this occasion, I was interrupted while on the iPhone, so left the "new posts" page up to come back to, without touching a thing.

By the time I'd been able to get to SS, I'm now on the laptop and simply refreshed the entire site (to obtain all new posts) .... only to find, as above, no new posts at all.

OK I thought, maybe it's now device-specific (eg before if you use the "Mark all topics as read" function it will record your "all read" date-stamp in the db no matter where you login from, whereas a simple click on the post will mark it as "read" on that device only), so I went back to the iPhone to read the "new posts" that I'd left up there, refreshed the page and see no new posts at all.

So my conclusion is that the user-session is somehow being randomly re-set?

Anyone else experiencing this? (Only just recently, so I wonder if the recent CloudFront deployment is affecting this with local db caching/purging? I'm currently in the UK if that helps or hinders)

    Cheers,

    M_T_B
