Nice vid Silvertorch, But your info is a bit off, Kooks do eat fish and they do drink water I am very lucky to have lots of kooks on my property, but I also like having gold fish in a very large pond with a bridge going over it, I can tell you for sure that kooks sit on the bridge railing or on the fountain head and pick off stupid gold fish all the time, I am forever shooing them away. They also seem to drink from a bird bath that I have in the middle of yard, it is mainly in the middle of summer that this occurs though I lost so many fish that I ended up putting bird netting over the pond, but then the herons would use the bird netting to stand on and stab the fish from, and when a cormorant got underneath the netting and got tangled in it I just gave up. I would rather feed the kooks than the herons so got rid of the netting As I said, nice work with the vid, but not quite correct though cheers grant
bigsky, sorry to hear about your goldfish. My information about the Kook was not based on personal experience as yours is! I wish I could own a home Down Under. I obtained my info from literary sources. The Kook is obviously a highly intelligent bird who can adapt to just about any environment. Even urban ones so I have read, so I am not surprised at all that they will take an easy mark like a goldfish is a shallow pond. Thanks for sharing your experience about the Kook and thanks for your kind words regarding my video.
G'day Silvertorch, I am extremely grateful to live where I do and I gathered you must have read it somewhere about them not eating fish, the skill they display in the fish stealing department is evident in some vids on youtube, like this one https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6-60SuMbmpk this is not my vid but I understand just how the bloke feels when he calls it you bastard bird, my pond is much bigger and lots deeper and I would have lost easily a couple of hundred fish in total but they can also be quite funny and in a way trusting and loyal, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iAMXaQgjJn8 www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hg7v2A6H53w By the way, I really, really like the 2016 coins image, the 2017 is OK but not in the league of the 2016 There is another fact about the kookaburra that few people know and you may want to put in your next video www.youtube.com/watch?v=BC9c9GtPGt0 all the best mate and keep up the good work
Not the Kooks you have to watch now it's those bl**dy drop bears..getting dangerous multiplying like rabbits they are!

To the Australian stackers. Does someone have the 2 coin set 2017 (proof & BU) in hands already? Just want to check the COA if it is true that maximum mintage of the proof version is only 1,000 pieces. Thanks.
It's confirmed now. Spotted on someone's COA. Kookaburra 1oz 2017 silver proof has the lowest proof mintage of 1,000 pieces only.
The official confirmations about the mintage of the set can be found here: 1) Perth Mint Blog: http://blog.perthmint.com.au/2017/0...lector-coin-releases-for-march-2017/#comments 2) Their customer Apmex: http://www.apmex.com/product/132695/2017-australia-silver-proof-bu-kookaburra-2-coin-set 3) The previous mentioned picture of CoA in a German coin forum (silber.de), click pic to enlarge: https://forum.silber.de/viewtopic.php?f=32&t=1419&start=810 Greets
