Is there anyone who can tell if this is a fake from this photo? It looks to me like words "CertiCard" and "Security Case" are not correctly lined up, and this has been a flaw with other fakes?
First glance yes, quite common for the fakes to be misaligned. If in doubt... Is it on eBay or Gumtree? More pics with serial?
the certicard should line up with security case and the is too high up and doesn't look round enough & font looks a little thin (maybe the photo), serial # should just start with a number Instead of the letter "A" for these older certicards, the features or tails on the swan on the actual bar looks too thick, usually looks a lot finer/thinner
The fake one, the green are darker The lettering on the other side are smaller compare to the real one. The serial number window can be see through against a light source. The edges of the card doesn't look right. Perth Mnt have issued too many certicard types on the green card. 1. Type with or without kangaroo 2. The wording with certicard , without certicard security case The only way to be sure real get it tested by XRF
Please don't be offended by my post. I was just doing a good deed by sharing information that I thought this buyer (and any buyer in general) should be aware of. Cheers
i have no doubt that perth bullion is reputable, i buy from them alot, i mean alot, but just by looking at the photo's posted, there does seem to be inconsistencies, the serial number on the back should be dotted (printed /mmade from dots) & the swan logo on the left hand lower corner, the size is incorrect & swan is not crisp & clear, there are some inconsistencies from the photo's, maybe photos are not clear enough for those details, best to get it tested
How embarrassed, put question on this bar! Apparently belong to a member here. Just saw the photos in for sale section. Did not mean to thank the post, just big fat thumb. Anyone here that trying to sell fake here will definitely get Shot!!! So this is a Real McCoy...
Thanks for clearing this up Credit Crunch and my apologies for any inconvenience. I didn't realise the Perth Mint were producing some of these with "CertiCard" and "Security Case" misaligned.
the U is to close to the R letter Please get this bar checked out and give us a 100% XRF awnser or Ultra sound test
