Yes, I think they deserve nicer packaging. Mine are still in that horrible rubbery plastic. Let me know if you come up with any ideas.

Guys did anyone get a response yet on when the mintage will be declared? also any updates on the release date for the next coin Griffin? I'm sure a lot of us are curious.

I bought capsules to go with my coins, from Perth Bullion. They fit OK.

I got the following information from Amark: The release of 2017 coins is announced for End of November 2016.
The mintage is unlimeted (as already known). But mintage figures are not yet known.

I put my Beasts in Air-Tites. The deep 38mm with the black rings look very nice. Coin doesn't move around in the capsule, but the foam ring isn't as thick as the coin, so you see some of the edging- which I don't mind.

Just read through this entire thread and have to agree - I love the look of these coins and am going to collect all 10 too

Can anyone help with where I can get the Lion in Australia? Perth Bullion has the Griffin for $60 which seems more than reasonable, but I can't seem to find the Lion at a decent price (Melb Mint want $79.50)

I stumbled across goldsilverbull which "claims" to be in Sydney, but then I spoke with them and they told me everything comes from US/Canada and they want $69 to post 2 coins LOL

Can't seem to find anywhere else :(

From everything I've read nothing has been officially said yet

Some people think they will stop making them 12 months after it's release, but for now it's unlimited mintage so we just have to wait and see what the mint plans on doing moving forward

Whilst all of the designs so far have been excellent, the coins are very prone to milkspotting. fyi for anybody looking to gamble on potential semi-numismatic value.

No Ag QB for me only Au quarter and 1 oz. I hate to see the nice design spoil by milk spots. As for Numis value, knowing Royal Mint it will be like the Britannia ie unlimited.....

If you can strike MS70 silver queen's beasts, that's a winner. Just look at past ebay sales.

Agreed 100%. Those will be riddled with spots. Stay away from silver. the 1/4Au is reasonable. Why buy silver semi-anymore? It's all the same when you factor in white spots. Just go to ownx.com or some company like it, buy cheap silver, and when it hits a certain price, just sell it at the hit of a keystroke, and take the cash, roll it into gold, or wait for silver to fall. No more silver for me, except for the occasional collectible...and even there, I'm a little nervous, and try to buy more of the antique than the proof.

Stick with gold for the stack or silver collectible, otherwise just buy cheapest bullion over spot

I'm a little late to the party but my Lion and Griffin arrived today and they are beautiful coins!

Got the right capsules too and they are awesome - nice and heavy :)

I don't understand your problem with milk spots...I have a small collection of silver bullion coins and have never touched them with bare hands.....and no milk spots.....Just received 20 Queens Beast silver bullion coins and always use cotton gloves to handle them..May sound a bit Mamby Pamby but maybe bare hands on coins are causing these milk spots?

looks like you are new to this space? You have lots of research/catch up to do about what causes white spots. Lol

Thought I'd give this thread a little bump and update

I've got the first 3 and have been waiting for quite a while for the 4th release to come

I assumed it would be the Unicorn because they have recently released the proof version of it, but it appears that the BU and Proof releases won't be in line with each other

Here is the BU release dates for everyone like myself who is just collecting the 2oz Silver set :)
    • 1st– The Lion of England – February 2016
    • 2nd-The Griffin of Edward III – October 2016
    • 3rd– The Red Dragon of Wales – March 2017
    • 4th– The White Greyhound of Richmond – September 2017
    • 5th -The Black Bull of Clarence – March 2018
    • 6th- The Falcon of the Plantagenet’s – September 2018
    • 7th- The Yale of Beaufort – March 2019
    • 8th– The White Lion of Mortimer – September 2019
    • 9th– The White Horse of Hanover – March 2020
    • 10th-The Unicorn of Scotland – September 2020

Well it turns out that above list that I found on another site may be bogus

The Unicorn of Scotland 2oz BU is now available. I've found it on eBay for $70 posted from the US which isn't too bad, but I'll wait a bit as I expect Perth Bullion to have them soon considering they've had the first 3 so far
