The forum has been migrated to a new server - the site is being reopened on an interim basis while non-critical migration activities are completed. Some functionality is yet to be restored - a number of menu links are not currently working, however the complete forum database and all member uploaded images are intact. I will be quite busy completing the work this evening - I'm not around on the forum to post or answer questions. A separate bugs thread will be opened once the migration activities are complete - for now I'm aware there's a number of issues with peripheral functionality (things like the Membership page not working etc). Please hold off on reporting issues until the bug thread is created. Full details on the outage will be provided when the migration is done.
Ironically, the old web host has just gone completely down as they are under attack with a large scale DDOS!
Yeah - well done GP - the effort somebody has to put in to run decent forums like this is often not acknowleged. Especially with spammers, other disruptive idiots and non-cooperating service providers not helping any. You are appreciated - thanks.
Hopefully with your new host, you will have a little more control to address these type of issues if they try the same thing again I am sure I am not the only one who was having withdrawal symptoms, after not being able to access the site - Massively appreciate you guys turning it around and getting back on the air so quickly. Now go get some sleep GP ... you've earned it!!
Thanks for all the hard work GP... much appreciated and I'm sorry that some nutter caused you this much hassle. BTW: The forum seems much faster than before... from this side of the World anyway.
Should be *heaps* faster - paying about 5x a month for dedicated infrastructure. No more slowdowns because of shared hosting dramas.
After the heart-stopping moment when "Account Suspended" keeps coming up on screen, followed by questioning what could have been done or said, the realisation and appreciation of the sweat, toil and sleep deprivation necessary to get the forum onto another host. Excellent work, and many thanks.
