Holey Engelhard! http://www.ebay.com/itm/Engelhard-Bull-Logo-10-Ounce-999-Silver-Bar-/251802154445 (Current eBay auction)..
Nice bar but I hate holes like that. Not that I have trophophobia or something (I dare you to google image search that term!)
Yeah, little too ugly & bizarre for me.. It's a bit overkill. But wouldn't be surprised if it goes at the high end of the range for that series, if it gets at least a couple warring bidders. The Canadians definitely got creative with their production techniques. Some pretty cool ones out there. Wonder if they had competitions & stuff..
Auction ended. Take a guess what some (Engelhard-)crazy American paid for this hunk of Swiss cheese, er, holey Canadian, before clicking.. Probably could have squeezed out an extra $20-$30 USD on a better day/month. Those 2 weird nubs on the top & one on one of the sides probably hurt it a bit, too..
"In dentistry, amalgam is an alloy of mercury with various metals used for dental fillings. It commonly consists of mercury (50%), silver (~22-32%), tin (~14%), copper (~8%), and other trace metals." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amalgam_(dentistry) EDIT: Forgot that the mercury is added to this stuff.. Aristaloy Contains: 68.4% Silver, Copper, Tin, Zinc. https://www.dental-directory.co.uk/products/restoratives/alloy_powder/engelhard/1/1/24/
Ah, gotcha.. Yours is also the pellet form. The listing is for the micro-granules. Perhaps therein lies the difference in labels? Thanks for the share, BTW!

I have no affiliation with this, and am not claiming authenticity, but it appears at another forum there are a handful of Tier-2 Gold Standard bars (10th series, non-minted) perhaps up for grabs in the near future.. https://gold-forum.kitco.com/showth...on-sought-by-retired-lady-re-inherited-silver Interesting about the apparent original receipt. Hopefully this is cool to share here. Only posting this for those who might be interested, and, if authentic/legit, would hate to see the seller not realize a full/true price for them due to her inexperience. Seems like they'll be too rich for my blood, and considering the receipt, would probably make sense to try to keep them as a group..
