Is there any way you can block new members from posting say 72h ?
    That might help out

Talk about some crazy spamming. Is there anyway to make it harder to create spoof accounts?

Have a security Captcha for new members for the first 10 posts.

Security captchas can be beaten by machine learning unfortunately.

It's a pain in the ass but you should actually click through the links and report them to whatever account they're associated with. I've taken the time to email the webmasters of a few of the websites they were dropping those PDF files into. Eventually those websites weren't being exploited anymore. Probably because the template maker was contacted and a fix was issued. However, this is only an assumption based off the fact that other templates were being exploited. I also got a few Vimo accounts deleted that had a few hundred followers.

Eventually if these accounts are reported enough the anti spam algorithms will evolve to delete them moments after they're made on the social media sites. Based on the titles of spam posted here everything seems highly automated. That means banning the spam accounts here wont do much since the spammer has already figured out the system. But the youtube, twitters, and other accounts being banned create a headache for the spammer since all the spam links are tied to those specific accounts.

I started a post about spam remedies a while back and one of the site admins mentioned that there will be updates soon or updates in the works, something to that effect. *fingers cross*
