I agree and am impressed that you would have called out the ambassador on his use of the term. It seems to me that it is being demonised by affiliation with Hitler and the WWII German Nazi movement. Whereas, if contrasted against the term "popular vote" one can see that "populism" is closely connected to democracy. Rule by the mob is OK when the mob is controlled and popular sentiments are consistent with globalist political agendas, apparently, but not if it is in support of less government and less government intervention. And to add, if the IMF's Christine Legarde uses the term one can be assured it is an elitist perjorative to condemn anti-globalist sentiment.
nope i look upon it as useless drivel . Im only interested in learning new ways to make money not useless words that i will never use . Thanks anway its nice to see you want to expand my vocabulary ..it is limited to basic english that everyone can understand the key word is "everyone" . I liken it to watching a politician waffle on with these type of words .theres nothing that makes my eyes roll back in my head quicker than some pompous ass intellectual using words that very few inderstand..If your talking to the general population i feel you need to be able to communicate clearly with them .jmo of course.
Each to their own, I take pleasure in using the English language, sometimes particular words not commonly used convey concepts better than commonly used ones, no matter how archaic they may appear to you.
I have no idea how a word that most dont understand can convey something better ?. you've lost me on this one .
Because it conveys my thoughts more effectively, I can't help it if you don't understand me. There's always a thing called a dictionary.
ahh your thoughts !! see all those big words & you forget to insert the basics so people can understand ... i rest my case. :
The Left is attempting to rally on a global basis against the rise of populism and the increasing influence of the Right. Economic orthodoxy is the root cause? Just the usual socialist claptrap blaming the world's woes on government intervention in the market place benefitting corporate interests at the expense of the worker ie the redirection of wealth away from producers to looters. Their solution? Government intervention in the market place designed to benefit the worker at the expense of corporations ie the redirection of wealth away from producers to looters. Both sides continue to blame capitalism for the ills of the world, rather than the real culprit - central planning and the abuse of State powers for political and social gain. That's because both sides don't have a grasp of what capitalism stands for and what it has enabled humanity to achieve and look toward government as a tool for enhancing their own values as opposed to voluntarism. My suggestion for viewers in the meantime is just to change channels for now, the same program has been running for decades, the actors have changed but the script remains the same. :/ Tune back in when the wankers have something new to say. https://www.bloomberg.com/view/articles/2017-03-13/the-global-left-has-a-plan-to-combat-populism
