@Tritoon01 : What do you think about these Mexican Libertad listings ? That are many coin dealers who sell these bullion coins, inclusive the shops you mentioned. http://www.bullion-investor.com/gold/libertad http://www.bullion-investor.com/silver/libertad
Apmex has a special I seen today,2015 one ounce gold Libertads on their E-Bay special buy store, $64.99 USD over spot or close to that figure.
the ultimate mintage numbers of the gold libertads 2015 bu was 3 times higher then the first numbers we received i call that a scam i like the coins dont get me wrong but to warm everybody up with lower mintages numbers then planned i find that totaly fcked up
I think you are right and thats how I felt but the overall mintage numbers are still very low. The question is really about trust and acting accordingly. Having said that the gold proofs are 500 ONLY and they are already hard to find. All the other years have shown good gains and you dont even see many 2011's which were fairly common. The 2013 and 2014 proofs are REALLY tough to find. 300 each for 2013 and 250 each for 2014 for most with a few more 1/4's around - 600 in 2013 and 350 in 2014.
The only gold Libertad I own is a 2013 1oz proof. Wish I had known the 2014 1ozers had a low mintage, but I really don't keep up with Libertads.
I wonder what do you suggest. Should I try to track some gold Libertads from 2014 or rather buy 2016, if I can find them somewhere. I'm interested in sizes 1/4 or less. I would like to have 1oz, but I can buy more smaller ones, if I want to sell them. Problem is that proofs are hard to find.:/
Thanks for the update. It seems 1/10 with mintage of 500 is the rarest. I wonder if these mintage numbers will be reached.
Mintage 2100 each proof including 1/10th 2014's are tough to track down. Expect proof set is at $6,800 and 1/4oz graded proofs are $700 in 69 and perhaps $900 to $1000 in 70 if available.
Where did you get data for 2016? I saw it on some eBay auction. Not sure if it's correct then, if it counts 1/10 also in some sets. There were/are some auctions on eBay for graded gold 2014. Only 1 1/4 was sold.
There are a few local coin & bullion shops here in the California area that has them available but quantities are very limited for some reason. It's not really a sexy piece. I really like the 50 Pesos Gold and the 200 Pesos Gold. Both really sexy pieces.
Dunno, but for me Libertads are one of the prettiest government minted coins. It's true that I'm not so big fan of small coins and considering gold prices I probably wouldn't be able to afford something besides smaller ones on which design probably doesn't look so interesting.
Guess that makes me lucky : ) can't say where I got it but a member I helped out helped me out. Thanks again if you're reading this, not for the coin either. I'd trade it for a 50 peso gold coin haha
Always good to make sure because the Mint does what it wants. The seven coin proof silver set, for example, has already gone through pre-sale even though it will be released later.
