I thought I would introduce myself as I have been lurking for a month or so. I do not have a stash to my name as yet, but time will take care of that. My interest in stacking comes from reading a bit of US financial history which shows how the individual with gold and silver in hand had economic power to how the individual there (and elsewhere) is now in thrall to Federal Reserve Notes backed by bucketloads of US govt debt. If money is power I think the US has made the most of its time in the sun from WW2 to the "unipolar moment" in the 1990's. Like all spend thrift empires it's time will come. I do not know if that is a good thing or a bad thing for us in Australia or whether it will be in 7 months or 70 years but something will give and it may come with a bang... I wonder whether we are gravitating toward a multipolar world with several power blocks , where no one countyry can foist its paper/debt money on everybody else. Thats where i think we could go back to some type of gold exchange standard with gold being re-rated at the expense of the US Dollar in inter country trade. I think this also means that silver may be re-rated as a financial asset for the plebs like me Anyway thats what i think and if i 'm wrong please don't tell anyone
