Cleaning out some old containers that belonged to my Grandfather and was wondering what my best option for disposal is? I have no idea on coins, the photo is just a few so you can see what what sort of coins we are talking about. Would eBay or similar just be my best bet? Thanks in advance, Pete.
^^^ just about to say the same. eBay will usuallly get you the best prices due to worldwide audience etc. 1925 Penny is a keydate so do some research on it and see which variety you have.
I suggest you google all of them before listing. A quick look shows that New Guinea Head Tax token might be worth something. Might be some rare or key years among the others, not just random world coins.
Yup it's worth >$90. Noble auction Sale 104 (Nov 13) $90 in lower condition than this coin. Having said that the market has softened. But do to condition should fetch at least $90 if not more +/- buyers and sellers premium 20% you can do the maths.
Thank you for you're quick and informative replies. It looks like it is worth spending some time to see what's there. Pete.
The only thing I suggest, don't clean them. That will ruin any value that could potentially be in the lot.
Just looking at the penny and I'm not sure how to tell variety. I read there is a broken N variety, is that what the second N here is? Sorry, just phone pictures.
